They forsook all the commands of the Lord their God and made for themselves two idols cast in the shape of calves, and an Asherah pole. They bowed down to all the starry hosts, and they worshiped Baal.

They turned away from all the commands of the Lord their God. They made two statues of gods for themselves. The statues were shaped like calves. They made a pole used to worship the female god named Asherah. They bowed down to all the stars. And they worshiped the god named Baal.

And they abandoned all the commandments of the Lord their God, and made for themselves metal images of two calves; and they made an Asherah and worshiped all the host of heaven and served Baal.

They rejected all the commands of the Lord their God and made two calves from metal. They set up an Asherah pole and worshiped Baal and all the forces of heaven.

耶罗波安王就筹划定妥，铸造了两个金牛犊，对众民说：“以色列人哪，你们上耶路撒冷去实在是难；这就是领你们出埃及地的神。”

犯了尼八的儿子耶罗波安所犯的罪；他还以为轻，又娶了西顿王谒巴力的女儿耶洗别为妻，去侍奉敬拜巴力，

耶和华必击打以色列人，使他们摇动，像水中的芦苇一般；又将他们从耶和华赐给他们列祖的美地上拔出来，分散在大河那边；因为他们做木偶，惹耶和华发怒。

因为他们在各高冈上，各青翠树下筑坛，立柱像和木偶。

又恐怕你向天举目观看，见耶和华你的神为天下万民所摆列的日月星，就是天上的万象，自己便被勾引敬拜侍奉它。

重新建筑他父希西家所毁坏的邱坛，又为巴力筑坛，做亚舍拉像，效法以色列王亚哈所行的，且敬拜侍奉天上的万象；

亚哈又做亚舍拉，他所行的惹耶和华以色列神的怒气，比他以前的以色列诸王更甚。

他照他父亲一切所行的，侍奉敬拜巴力，惹耶和华以色列神的怒气。

并且贬了他祖母玛迦太后的位，因她造了可憎的偶像亚舍拉。亚撒砍下她的偶像，烧在汲沦溪边，

于是国民都到巴力庙，拆毁了庙，打碎坛和像，又在坛前将巴力的祭司玛坦杀了。祭司耶何耶大派官看守耶和华的殿，

制造雕刻偶像的尽都虚空；他们所喜悦的都无益处；他们的见证无所看见，无所知晓，他们便觉羞愧。谁制造神像，铸造无益的偶像？

亚伦从他们手里接过来，铸了一只牛犊，用雕刻的器具做成。他们就说：“以色列啊，这是领你出埃及地的神。”

抛散在日头、月亮，和天上众星之下，就是他们从前所喜爱、所侍奉、所随从、所求问、所敬拜的。这些骸骨不再收殓，不再葬埋，必在地面上成为粪土；

有火在他们的党中发起；有火焰烧毁了恶人。他们在何烈山造了牛犊，叩拜铸成的像。如此将他们荣耀的主换为吃草之牛的像，

在各高冈上、各青翠树下立柱像和木偶；

他们快快偏离了我所吩咐的道，为自己铸了一只牛犊，向它下拜献祭，说：‘以色列啊，这就是领你出埃及地的神。’”

耶户招聚众民，对他们说：“亚哈侍奉巴力还冷淡，耶户却更热心。现在我要给巴力献大祭。应当叫巴力的众先知和一切拜巴力的人，并巴力的众祭司，都到我这里来，不可缺少一个；凡不来的必不得活。”耶户这样行，是用诡计要杀尽拜巴力的人。耶户说：“要为巴力宣告严肃会！”于是宣告了。耶户差人走遍以色列地；凡拜巴力的人都来齐了，没有一个不来的。他们进了巴力庙，巴力庙中从前边直到后边都满了人。耶户吩咐掌管礼服的人说：“拿出礼服来，给一切拜巴力的人穿。”他就拿出礼服来给了他们。耶户和利甲的儿子约拿达进了巴力庙，对拜巴力的人说：“你们察看察看，在你们这里不可有耶和华的仆人，只可容留拜巴力的人。”耶户和约拿达进去，献平安祭和燔祭。耶户先安派八十人在庙外，吩咐说：“我将这些人交在你们手中，若有一人脱逃，谁放的必叫他偿命！”耶户献完了燔祭，就出来吩咐护卫兵和众军长说：“你们进去杀他们，不容一人出来！”护卫兵和军长就用刀杀他们，将尸首抛出去，便到巴力庙的城去了，将巴力庙中的柱像都拿出来烧了；毁坏了巴力柱像，拆毁了巴力庙作为厕所，直到今日。这样，耶户在以色列中灭了巴力。
