于是亚撒从耶和华殿和王宫的府库里拿出金银来，送给住在大马士革的亚兰王便‧哈达，说：

因此，看哪，主必使亚述王和他的威势如大河翻腾汹涌的水上涨，盖过他们，必上涨超过一切水道，涨过两岸，必冲入犹大，涨溢泛滥，直到颈项。他展开翅膀，遮蔽你的全地。以马内利啊！”

他掘了坑，挖得太深，竟掉在自己所挖的陷阱里。他的毒害必回到自己头上，他的残暴必落到自己的脑袋上。

耶和华必使亚述王临到你和你的百姓，并你的父家，自从以法莲脱离犹大的时候，未曾有过这样的日子。
