Then King Ahaz went to Damascus to meet Tiglath-Pileser king of Assyria. He saw an altar in Damascus and sent to Uriah the priest a sketch of the altar, with detailed plans for its construction.

Then King Ahaz went to Damascus. He went there to see Tiglath- Pileser, the king of Assyria. Ahaz saw an altar in Damascus. He sent a drawing of it to Uriah the priest. Ahaz also sent him plans for building it.

When King Ahaz went to Damascus to meet Tiglath-pileser king of Assyria, he saw the altar that was at Damascus. And King Ahaz sent to Uriah the priest a model of the altar, and its pattern, exact in all its details.

永恆主這麼說：『列國所行的路你們不要學着行，也不要因天象而懼怕，像列國因這些事而懼怕一樣。

他們若因他們所行的一切事而慚愧，那麼你就要將殿的規模、結構、出入處、與其一切體系、一切條例、一切制度、一切禮節規矩、指示他們，在他們眼前寫下來，好使他們謹守殿的一切規章一切條例而行。

他向擊敗了他的大馬色神獻祭，說：『因為亞蘭王的神幫助了亞蘭人，我也向他們獻祭，他們好幫助我。』但那些神卻使他和以色列眾人敗亡。亞哈斯將上帝殿裏的器皿收聚起來，將上帝殿裏的器皿砍壞了，又封鎖永恆主之殿的各門，在耶路撒冷的各拐角造了祭壇。他又在猶大各城造了邱壇，向別的神燒香，惹了永恆主他列祖的上帝的怒氣。

雖則他們也曾安置了他們的門檻靠近我的門檻，豎立了他們的門框挨着我的門框，以致他們跟我之間不過一牆之隔；雖則他們也行了可厭惡的事、來玷污我的聖名，以致我氣忿忿地消滅他們。

他們徒然敬拜我，將人的誡律當教條教訓人。」』

摩西將永恆主的一切話都寫上，清早起來，在山下築了一座祭壇，按以色列的十二族派立十二根聖柱。

別和今世同形狀了，乃要以心思之更新而變了形質，使你們能察驗甚麼是上帝的旨意，甚麼是那美善的、可喜歡的、純全的事。

摩西看着一切的工，見他們都作了；永恆主怎樣吩咐，他們就怎樣作。於是摩西給他們祝福。

當以色列王比加在位的日子、亞述王提革拉毘列色來奪取以雲、亞伯伯瑪迦、亞挪、基低斯、夏瑣、基列、加利利、和拿弗他利全地；使這些地方的居民都流亡到亞述去。

大衛將殿的廊子、旁屋、府庫、房頂屋子、內屋、除罪蓋室等的圖樣交給他兒子所羅門；又將他心裏所想的圖樣就是永恆主之殿的院子、四圍所有的貯藏室、上帝之殿的府庫、和分別為聖之物的府庫等的圖樣都交給他；

這樣他們就因所作的而蒙不潔，也以惡行為而變節事奉別的神了。

這麼一說，他便可以不必敬奉父親或母親！那就是你們竟因了你們的傳統規矩而取消上帝的話了！

因為知道你們得贖放、脫離你們祖傳徒勞無效的生活、不是用能朽壞的東西、銀子或金子，

那時你要謹慎、不可在他們被消滅了之後去隨從他、而陷入網羅，也不可尋問他們的神說：「這些列國人怎樣事奉他們的神呢，我也要照樣地行。」

大衛說：『以上這一切書面的話、一切關於圖樣的工作、都是由永恆主的手按在我身上、使我明白的。』

阿荷利巴一眼看見，就戀愛了他們，打發使者到迦勒底去見他們。巴比倫人就來，登了愛情的床，以他們的淫行玷污了她；她被他們玷污了之後，心裏竟跟他們疏遠起來。
