He did what was right in the eyes of the Lord, but not as his father David had done. In everything he followed the example of his father Joash.

Amaziah did what was right in the eyes of the Lord. But he didn’t do what King David had done. He always followed the example of his father Joash.

爾蹈祖愆得見贖者、知不以剝蝕之金銀、

約轄得祭司耶何耶大之啟迪、行善於耶和華前、

耶利米曰耶和華與、爾施大力、以捍衛予、我罹患難、爾拯救予、異邦人自地極將至、告曰、我祖所崇事者、誕妄無益。

亞馬謝既殺以東人凱旋、載西耳族之上帝像以歸、焚香崇拜、尊若上帝。耶和華震怒、遣先知告亞馬謝曰、爾戮異邦人、其上帝猶不能援手、爾反崇之曷故。言時、王阻之、曰、爾非言官、諫我奚為、獨不畏罪乎。先知不敢復諫、曰、爾弗聽從、我知上帝必敗爾。
