He did what was right in the eyes of the Lord, but not as his father David had done. In everything he followed the example of his father Joash.

Amaziah did what was right in the eyes of the Lord. But he didn’t do what King David had done. He always followed the example of his father Joash.

And he did what was right in the eyes of the Lord, yet not like David his father. He did in all things as Joash his father had done.

Amaziah did what was pleasing in the Lord’s sight, but not like his ancestor David. Instead, he followed the example of his father, Joash.

不要效法你們的祖先。從前的先知呼叫他們說：『萬軍之耶和華如此說，當回轉離開你們的惡道惡行。』他們卻不聽，也不順從我。這是耶和華說的。你們的祖先在哪裏呢？那些先知能永遠存活嗎？然而我的言語和律例，就是我所吩咐我僕人眾先知的，豈不臨到你們的祖先嗎？他們就回轉，說：萬軍之耶和華定意按我們的所作所為對待我們，他也已經照樣行了。」

所羅門年老的時候，他的妻妾誘惑他的心去隨從別神，不像他父親大衛以純正的心順服耶和華－他的上帝。

亞瑪謝行耶和華眼中看為正的事，只是沒有純正的心。他的王國一鞏固，就把殺他父王的臣僕殺了，

亞比央行他父親從前所犯一切的罪，他的心不像他曾祖父大衛以純正的心順服耶和華－他的上帝。

耶何耶大死後，猶大的眾領袖來叩拜王，那時王就聽了他們。

你們知道，你們得以從你們祖先傳下來虛妄的行為中救贖出來，不是靠着會朽壞的金銀等物，

約阿施在耶何耶大祭司教導他的一切日子，行耶和華眼中看為正的事。

耶和華啊，你是我的力量，是我的保障，在患難之日是我的避難所。列國的人必從地極來到你這裏，說：「我們祖先所承受的，不過是虛假，是虛空無益之物。

亞瑪謝擊殺以東人回來以後，他把西珥人的神像帶回，立為自己的神明，在它們面前叩拜燒香。耶和華的怒氣向亞瑪謝發作，差派一個先知去見他，對他說：「這些神明不能救自己的百姓脫離你的手，你為何尋求它們呢？」先知與王說話的時候，王對他說：「難道我們立你作王的謀士嗎？你住口吧！為何要挨打呢？」先知就止住了，卻說：「我知道上帝已定意要消滅你，因為你行這事，不聽從我的勸戒。」
