He did what was right in the eyes of the Lord, but not as his father David had done. In everything he followed the example of his father Joash.

Amaziah did what was right in the eyes of the Lord. But he didn’t do what King David had done. He always followed the example of his father Joash.

And he did what was right in the eyes of the Lord, yet not like David his father. He did in all things as Joash his father had done.

Amaziah did what was pleasing in the Lord’s sight, but not like his ancestor David. Instead, he followed the example of his father, Joash.

不要效法你们的祖先。从前的先知呼叫他们说：‘万军之耶和华如此说，当回转离开你们的恶道恶行。’他们却不听，也不顺从我。这是耶和华说的。你们的祖先在哪里呢？那些先知能永远存活吗？然而我的言语和律例，就是我所吩咐我仆人众先知的，岂不临到你们的祖先吗？他们就回转，说：万军之耶和华定意按我们的所作所为对待我们，他也已经照样行了。”

所罗门年老的时候，他的妻妾诱惑他的心去随从别神，不像他父亲大卫以纯正的心顺服耶和华—他的上帝。

亚玛谢行耶和华眼中看为正的事，只是没有纯正的心。他的王国一巩固，就把杀他父王的臣仆杀了，

亚比央行他父亲从前所犯一切的罪，他的心不像他曾祖父大卫以纯正的心顺服耶和华—他的上帝。

耶何耶大死后，犹大的众领袖来叩拜王，那时王就听了他们。

你们知道，你们得以从你们祖先传下来虚妄的行为中救赎出来，不是靠着会朽坏的金银等物，

约阿施在耶何耶大祭司教导他的一切日子，行耶和华眼中看为正的事。

耶和华啊，你是我的力量，是我的保障，在患难之日是我的避难所。列国的人必从地极来到你这里，说：“我们祖先所承受的，不过是虚假，是虚空无益之物。

亚玛谢击杀以东人回来以后，他把西珥人的神像带回，立为自己的神明，在它们面前叩拜烧香。耶和华的怒气向亚玛谢发作，差派一个先知去见他，对他说：“这些神明不能救自己的百姓脱离你的手，你为何寻求它们呢？”先知与王说话的时候，王对他说：“难道我们立你作王的谋士吗？你住口吧！为何要挨打呢？”先知就止住了，却说：“我知道上帝已定意要消灭你，因为你行这事，不听从我的劝戒。”
