He did what was right in the eyes of the Lord, but not as his father David had done. In everything he followed the example of his father Joash.

Amaziah did what was right in the eyes of the Lord. But he didn’t do what King David had done. He always followed the example of his father Joash.

不要效法你們的列祖那樣，從前的先知呼喚他們：萬軍之耶和華這樣說，你們要回轉，離開你們的惡道和惡行。他們卻不聽從，也不理會我（這是耶和華的宣告）。你們的列祖在哪裡呢？那些先知能永遠活著嗎？然而我吩咐我的僕人眾先知的話與條例，不是已報應在你們的列祖身上嗎？所以他們就回轉，說：萬軍之耶和華定意按著我們所作所行的對付我們，他已經這樣行了。’”

所羅門年老的時候，他的妃嬪誘惑他的心偏離了神去隨從別的神。他的心不像他的父親大衛那樣完全歸於耶和華他的神。

亞瑪謝行耶和華看為正的事，只是心不專一。他鞏固了王位以後，就把擊殺他父王的臣僕殺了。

亞比央行他父親在他以前所行的一切罪惡。他的心不完完全全歸向耶和華他的神，像他先祖大衛的心一樣。

耶何耶大死後，猶大的領袖們來朝拜王；王聽從了他們的主意。

因為知道你們得贖，脫去你們祖先傳下的妄行，不是憑著能壞的金銀等物，

在耶何耶大祭司教導他的日子，他就行耶和華看為正的事。

耶和華，我的力量、我的堡壘、我遭難時的避難所啊！萬國要從地極前來朝見你，說：“我們列祖所承受的只是虛假的偶像，是虛空、一無用處的。

亞瑪謝擊敗了以東人回來的時候，把西珥人的神像也帶回來，立為自己的神，在它們面前叩拜，又向它們燒香。因此，耶和華向亞瑪謝發怒，於是差派一位先知去見他，對他說：“這民族的神不能拯救自己的人民脫離你的手，你為甚麼還尋求它們呢？”先知向王講話的時候，王對他說：“我們立了你作王的謀士嗎？住口吧！你要挨打嗎？”先知就住口，可是又說：“我知道神已定意消滅你，因為你作了這事，又不聽從我的勸戒。”

耶何耶大祭司在世的日子，約阿施行耶和華看為正的事。
