He did what was right in the eyes of the Lord, but not as his father David had done. In everything he followed the example of his father Joash.

Amaziah did what was right in the eyes of the Lord. But he didn’t do what King David had done. He always followed the example of his father Joash.

不要效法你们的列祖那样，从前的先知呼唤他们：万军之耶和华这样说，你们要回转，离开你们的恶道和恶行。他们却不听从，也不理会我（这是耶和华的宣告）。你们的列祖在哪里呢？那些先知能永远活着吗？然而我吩咐我的仆人众先知的话与条例，不是已报应在你们的列祖身上吗？所以他们就回转，说：万军之耶和华定意按着我们所作所行的对付我们，他已经这样行了。’”

所罗门年老的时候，他的妃嫔诱惑他的心偏离了神去随从别的神。他的心不像他的父亲大卫那样完全归于耶和华他的神。

亚玛谢行耶和华看为正的事，只是心不专一。他巩固了王位以后，就把击杀他父王的臣仆杀了。

亚比央行他父亲在他以前所行的一切罪恶。他的心不完完全全归向耶和华他的神，像他先祖大卫的心一样。

耶何耶大死后，犹大的领袖们来朝拜王；王听从了他们的主意。

因为知道你们得赎，脱去你们祖先传下的妄行，不是凭着能坏的金银等物，

在耶何耶大祭司教导他的日子，他就行耶和华看为正的事。

耶和华，我的力量、我的堡垒、我遭难时的避难所啊！万国要从地极前来朝见你，说：“我们列祖所承受的只是虚假的偶像，是虚空、一无用处的。

亚玛谢击败了以东人回来的时候，把西珥人的神像也带回来，立为自己的神，在它们面前叩拜，又向它们烧香。因此，耶和华向亚玛谢发怒，于是差派一位先知去见他，对他说：“这民族的神不能拯救自己的人民脱离你的手，你为什么还寻求它们呢？”先知向王讲话的时候，王对他说：“我们立了你作王的谋士吗？住口吧！你要挨打吗？”先知就住口，可是又说：“我知道神已定意消灭你，因为你作了这事，又不听从我的劝戒。”

耶何耶大祭司在世的日子，约阿施行耶和华看为正的事。
