And since the Lord had not said he would blot out the name of Israel from under heaven, he saved them by the hand of Jeroboam son of Jehoash.

The Lord hadn’t said he would wipe out Israel’s name from the earth. So he saved them by the power of Jeroboam, the son of Jehoash.

But the Lord had not said that he would blot out the name of Israel from under heaven, so he saved them by the hand of Jeroboam the son of Joash.

And because the Lord had not said he would blot out the name of Israel completely, he used Jeroboam II, the son of Jehoash, to save them.

你不要管我，我要消灭他们，把他们的名字从天下除去；我要使你成为一个比他们更强更大的国。’

亚兰王的军长乃缦在他的主人面前是一个大人物，很得王的赏识，因为耶和华曾藉他把胜利赐给亚兰。这个人是个勇猛的战士，可惜他是个痲风病人。

耶和华必不肯饶恕他；耶和华的怒气和愤恨必向这人发作，这书上所写的一切咒诅都要降在那人身上，耶和华也必从天下涂抹他的名。

然而，到了神我们的救主显明他的恩慈和怜爱的时候，他就救了我们，并不是由于我们所行的义，而是照着他的怜悯，藉着重生的洗和圣灵的更新。圣灵就是神藉着我们的救主耶稣基督丰丰富富浇灌在我们身上的，

后来，歌玛又怀孕，生了一个女儿。耶和华对何西阿说：“给她起名叫罗．路哈玛（“罗‧路哈玛”意即“不蒙怜恤”）；因为我必不再怜恤以色列家，我决不赦免他们。“但我要怜恤犹大家，使他们靠耶和华他们的神得救。我要拯救他们，并不是靠弓、靠刀、靠战争，也不是靠战马、靠骑兵。”

现在，如果你肯赦免他们的罪，那就好了；如果不肯，求你从你所写的册上把我涂抹吧。”耶和华对摩西说：“谁得罪了我，我就要从我的册上把谁涂抹。

神并没有丢弃他预先知道的子民。难道你们不知道在经上以利亚的话是怎样说的吗？他向神控诉以色列人：“主啊，他们杀了你的众先知，拆毁了你的祭坛，只剩下我一个人，他们还在寻索我的性命。”但神怎样回答他呢？“我为自己留下了七千人，是没有向巴力屈膝的。”因此，现在也是这样，按着恩典的拣选，还有剩下的余数。既然是靠着恩典，就不再是由于行为了；不然的话，恩典就不再是恩典了。那又怎么样呢？以色列人恳切寻找的，他们没有得到，蒙拣选的人倒得着了。其余的人都成了顽固的，正如经上所记：“神给了他们麻木的灵，有眼睛却看不见，有耳朵却听不到，直到今日。”大卫也说：“愿他们的筵席成为他们的网罗、陷阱、绊脚石和报应；愿他们的眼睛昏暗，不能看见；愿他们的背脊常常弯曲。”那么我要说，他们失足是要倒下去吗？绝对不是！反而因为他们的过犯，救恩就临到外族人，为了要激起他们奋发。既然他们的过犯可以使世人富足，他们的失败可以使外族人富足，何况他们的丰盛呢？
