And since the Lord had not said he would blot out the name of Israel from under heaven, he saved them by the hand of Jeroboam son of Jehoash.

The Lord hadn’t said he would wipe out Israel’s name from the earth. So he saved them by the power of Jeroboam, the son of Jehoash.

But the Lord had not said that he would blot out the name of Israel from under heaven, so he saved them by the hand of Jeroboam the son of Joash.

And because the Lord had not said he would blot out the name of Israel completely, he used Jeroboam II, the son of Jehoash, to save them.

得胜者必同样穿上白袍，我绝不会从生命册上抹去他的名字，我必在我父和众天使面前承认他的名。

所以，当你们的上帝耶和华赐给你们那片土地作产业、使你们四境安宁时，要灭绝亚玛力人，抹去世人对他们的记忆。你们要切记！

不要拦我，我要毁灭他们，从世上抹去他们的名字。我要使你的子孙成为一个比他们更强大的民族。’

乃缦是亚兰王的元帅，甚得亚兰王器重，因为耶和华借他使亚兰人打了许多胜仗。他是英勇的战士，只是患了麻风病。

耶和华绝不会赦免这样的人，祂必向这样的人发烈怒，使记在这书上的一切咒诅临到他身上，从世上抹去他的名字。

但我们的救主上帝向人彰显了祂的恩慈和仁爱，借着重生之洗和圣灵的更新拯救了我们，这并非因为我们有义行，而是因为祂的怜悯。上帝借着我们的救主耶稣基督把圣灵丰丰富富地浇灌在我们身上。

后来，歌蜜又怀孕生了一个女儿。耶和华对何西阿说：“给她取名叫罗·路哈玛，因为我将不再怜悯以色列家，也不再赦免他们的罪。但我要怜悯犹大家，使他们依靠他们的上帝耶和华得到拯救，而不是依靠战弓、刀剑、马匹、骑兵和战争。”

恳求你赦免他们的罪，不然请你从你的册子上抹掉我的名字吧。”耶和华对摩西说：“谁得罪我，我就从我的册子上抹掉谁的名字。

上帝并没有放弃祂预先拣选的子民。你们不知道圣经上有关以利亚先知的记载吗？他在上帝面前控告以色列人，说：“主啊！他们残杀你的先知，拆毁你的祭坛，只剩下我一个人，他们还要杀我。”上帝怎样回答呢？祂说：“我为自己留下七千人，他们未曾跪拜巴力。”现在的情况也是一样，上帝按照拣选的恩典留下了少数人。既然说是出于恩典，就不再基于行为，不然恩典就不再是恩典了。这该怎么说呢？以色列人努力追求，却一无所得，只有蒙拣选的人得到了，其他的人都变得顽固不化。正如圣经上说：“上帝使他们至今心智昏迷，眼睛看不见，耳朵听不到。”大卫也说：“愿他们的宴席成为网罗、陷阱、绊脚石，给他们带来报应；愿他们眼目昏暗，无法看见，永远弯腰驼背。”那么，以色列人一失足就再也爬不起来了吗？当然不是！恰好相反，因他们的过犯，救恩临到了外族人，使他们心生嫉妒。如果他们的过犯给世界带来了富足，他们的失败给外族人带来了富足，那么，他们发愤回头的时候岂不要带来更大的祝福吗？
