Jehoash king of Israel captured Amaziah king of Judah, the son of Joash, the son of Ahaziah, at Beth Shemesh. Then Jehoash went to Jerusalem and broke down the wall of Jerusalem from the Ephraim Gate to the Corner Gate— a section about four hundred cubits long.

Jehoash king of Israel captured Amaziah king of Judah at Beth Shemesh. Amaziah was the son of Joash. Joash was the son of Ahaziah. Jehoash went to Jerusalem. He broke down part of its wall. It’s the part that went from the Ephraim Gate to the Corner Gate. That part of the wall was 600 feet long.

And Jehoash king of Israel captured Amaziah king of Judah, the son of Jehoash, son of Ahaziah, at Beth-shemesh, and came to Jerusalem and broke down the wall of Jerusalem for four hundred cubits, from the Ephraim Gate to the Corner Gate.

King Jehoash of Israel captured Judah’s king, Amaziah son of Joash and grandson of Ahaziah, at Beth shemesh. Then he marched to Jerusalem, where he demolished 600 feet of Jerusalem’s wall, from the Ephraim Gate to the Corner Gate.

于是，民众都出去取来树枝，在自家的屋顶上、庭院里、上帝殿的院子里、水门的广场上和以法莲门的广场上搭棚。

从迦巴直到耶路撒冷南边的临门，整个地区都要变为平原。从便雅悯门到旧门，再到角门，从哈楠业楼到王的榨酒池——耶路撒冷必仍然矗立在原处。

然后又经过以法莲门、古门、鱼门、哈楠业楼、哈米亚楼，远至羊门，之后停在护卫门。

耶和华说：“看啊，时候将到，从哈楠业楼直到角门，整个耶路撒冷城要重建起来归给耶和华。

到那日，狂妄的人将被挫败，骄傲的人将遭贬抑；唯独耶和华将受尊崇。因为万军之耶和华已定了日子，要惩罚一切骄傲狂妄和自高自大的人，使他们沦为卑贱；

因为自高的人必遭贬抑，谦卑的人必得尊荣。”

迦勒底人擒住西底迦，把他押到利比拉见巴比伦王，在那里审判他。

巴比伦王尼布甲尼撒起兵攻打他，用铜链把他锁着带到巴比伦。

以色列王约阿施在伯·示麦擒获约哈斯的孙子、约阿施的儿子、犹大王亚玛谢，把他带到耶路撒冷，又拆毁从以法莲门到角门约一百八十米长的耶路撒冷城墙，抢走俄别·以东在上帝殿中看守的所有金银和器皿以及王宫里的财宝，并带着人质返回撒玛利亚。

现在我尼布甲尼撒颂赞、尊崇、敬奉天上的王，因为祂的作为公正，祂行事公平，能够贬抑行为骄傲的人。”

所以，耶和华就差遣亚述王的将领来攻击他们，他们捉住玛拿西，用钩子钩着他，用铜链锁着他押往巴比伦。

骄横是沦亡的前奏，狂傲是败落的预兆。

那年春天，尼布甲尼撒王派人把他和耶和华殿里的贵重器皿一同带到巴比伦。尼布甲尼撒另立约雅斤的叔叔西底迦做犹大和耶路撒冷的王。

发泄你满腔的怒火，鉴察骄傲者，贬抑他；鉴察骄傲者，制服他，将恶人原地践踏；

骄傲的人必遭贬抑，谦卑的人必得尊荣。
