Amaziah, however, would not listen, so Jehoash king of Israel attacked. He and Amaziah king of Judah faced each other at Beth Shemesh in Judah.

But Amaziah wouldn’t listen. So Jehoash, the king of Israel, attacked. He and Amaziah, the king of Judah, faced each other in battle. The battle took place at Beth Shemesh in Judah.

But Amaziah would not listen. So Jehoash king of Israel went up, and he and Amaziah king of Judah faced one another in battle at Beth-shemesh, which belongs to Judah.

But Amaziah refused to listen, so King Jehoash of Israel mobilized his army against King Amaziah of Judah. The two armies drew up their battle lines at Beth shemesh in Judah.

But Amaziah would not listen, so King Jehoash of Israel advanced. He and King Amaziah of Judah met face to face at Beth-shemesh that belonged to Judah.

But Amaziah would not listen. So Jehoash king of Israel went up; and they faced each other, he and Amaziah king of Judah, at Beth shemesh, which belongs to Judah.

以利穩、密大‧伊勒、和璉、伯‧亞納、伯‧示麥，共十九座城，還有所屬的村莊。

亞瑪謝卻不肯聽從。這是出乎上帝，好將他們交在敵人手裏，因為他們尋求以東的神明。

亞因和城的郊外、淤他和城的郊外，以及伯‧示麥和城的郊外，共九座城，都是從這二支派中分出來的。

你們要觀察：車若直行過以色列的邊界，上到伯‧示麥去，這大災禍就是耶和華降在我們身上的；若不然，我們就知道，這不是他的手擊打我們，而是我們偶然遭遇的。」非利士人就照樣做了。他們取了兩頭哺乳的母牛套在車上，把牛犢關在家裏，把耶和華的約櫃和裝金老鼠以及金痔瘡像的匣子都放在車上。牛直行大路，在往伯‧示麥的一條大道上，一面走一面叫，不偏左右。非利士的領袖跟在後面，直到伯‧示麥的地界。那時，伯‧示麥人正在平原收割麥子，舉目看見約櫃，就歡歡喜喜地迎見它。車到了伯‧示麥人約書亞的田間，就在那裏停了。在那裏有一塊大磐石，他們把車的木頭劈了，把兩頭母牛獻給耶和華為燔祭。利未人將耶和華的約櫃和櫃子旁邊裝金器的匣子拿下來，放在大磐石上。當日伯‧示麥人獻上燔祭，又獻其他祭物給耶和華。非利士人的五個領袖看見了，當日就回以革倫去。非利士人獻給耶和華作賠罪的金痔瘡像如下：一個為亞實突，一個為迦薩，一個為亞實基倫，一個為迦特，一個為以革倫。金老鼠的數目是按照非利士五個領袖的城鎮，就是堅固的城鎮和鄉村，以及大磐石。這磐石是安放耶和華約櫃的，到今日還在伯‧示麥人約書亞的田間。耶和華擊殺伯‧示麥人，因為他們觀看他的約櫃。他擊殺了百姓七十人。百姓因耶和華大大擊殺他們，就哀哭了。

這地界又從巴拉往西繞到西珥山，經過耶琳山斜坡的北邊，耶琳就是基撒崙，從那裏又下到伯‧示麥，經過亭拿，

先知與王說話的時候，王對他說：「難道我們立你作王的謀士嗎？你住口吧！為何要挨打呢？」先知就止住了，卻說：「我知道上帝已定意要消滅你，因為你行這事，不聽從我的勸戒。」
