不错，你打败了以东人，你的心就高傲。你尽管自己夸耀，安坐家中就是了。为什么要惹祸，使你覆亡，也使犹大跟你一起覆亡呢？”

你固然是擊敗了以東人了，你卻心高氣傲。你只管自以為榮，在家裏呆着吧；又為甚麼要惹禍，使你覆亡，使你和猶大國跟你一同覆亡呢？』

爾擊以東、心高而誇耀之、安居於家可耳、何為招禍、以致傾覆、猶大與爾偕亡乎、

今王既擊以東人、中心驕奢、以此為榮、深居九重、亦可已矣。何為自取其禍、欲與猶大族偕亡乎。

爾因擊敗以東人而心驕、以此為榮、安居於宮猶可、何為自取其禍、致己與猶大國偕亡乎、

You have indeed defeated Edom and now you are arrogant. Glory in your victory, but stay at home! Why ask for trouble and cause your own downfall and that of Judah also?”

It’s true that you have won the battle over Edom. So you are proud. Enjoy your success while you can. But stay home and enjoy it! Why ask for trouble? Why bring yourself crashing down? Why bring Judah down with you?”

You have indeed struck down Edom, and your heart has lifted you up. Be content with your glory, and stay at home, for why should you provoke trouble so that you fall, you and Judah with you?”

“ You have indeed defeated Edom, and you are proud of it. But be content with your victory and stay at home! Why stir up trouble that will only bring disaster on you and the people of Judah?”

You have indeed defeated Edom, and you have become overconfident. Enjoy your glory and stay at home. Why should you stir up such trouble that you fall— you and Judah with you?”

Thou hast indeed smitten Edom, and thy heart hath lifted thee up: glory thereof, and abide at home; for why shouldest thou meddle to thy hurt, that thou shouldest fall, even thou, and Judah with thee?

You have indeed defeated Edom, and you have become overconfident. Enjoy your glory and stay at home. Why should you stir up such trouble that you fall— you and Judah with you?”

Thou hast indeed smitten Edom, and thine heart hath lifted thee up: glory[ of this], and tarry at home: for why shouldest thou meddle to[ thy] hurt, that thou shouldest fall,[ even] thou, and Judah with thee?

You thoroughly defeated Edom and it has gone to your head! Gloat over your success, but stay in your palace. Why bring calamity on yourself? Why bring down yourself and Judah along with you?”

乌西雅既强盛，就心高气傲，以致败坏。他干犯耶和华—他的上帝，进耶和华的殿，要在香坛上烧香。

于是你的心高傲，忘记耶和华—你的上帝。他曾将你从埃及地为奴之家领出来，

希西家却没有照他所蒙的恩回报，因他心里骄傲，所以愤怒要临到他，临到犹大和耶路撒冷。

止息纷争是人的尊荣，愚妄人争闹不休。

骄傲在败坏以先，内心高傲在跌倒之前。

暴怒的人挑启争端；忍怒的人止息纷争。

人若未曾加害你，不可无故与他相争。

看哪，恶人自高自大，心不正直；惟义人必因他的信得生。

亚玛谢在盐谷杀了一万以东人，又在战役中攻取了西拉，称它为约帖，直到今日。

但是他赐更多的恩典，正如经上说：“上帝抵挡骄傲的人，但赐恩给谦卑的人。”

他派使者来见约西亚，说：“犹大王啊，我跟你有什么相干呢？我今日来不是要攻打你，而是要攻打与我争战之家，并且上帝吩咐我从速行事。你不要干预与我同在的上帝，免得他毁灭你。”

不要冒失出去与人争讼，免得你的邻舍羞辱你，最后你就不知怎么做。

但他的心高傲，灵也刚愎，以致行事狂傲，就被革去国度的王位，夺走荣耀。他被赶出离开世人，他的心变为兽心，与野驴同住，吃草如牛，身体被天上的露水滴湿，直到他知道，至高的上帝在人的国中掌权，凭自己的旨意立人治国。伯沙撒啊，你是他的儿子，你虽知道这一切，却不谦卑自己，竟向天上的主自高，差人将他殿中的器皿拿到你面前，你和大臣、王后、妃嫔用这器皿饮酒。你又赞美那不能看、不能听、无知无识，用金、银、铜、铁、木、石造的神明，没有将荣耀归与那手中掌管你气息，管理你一切行动的上帝。

主耶和华如此说：我在古时藉我仆人以色列众先知所说的，不就是你吗？他们在那些日子，多年说预言，我必领你来攻击以色列人。”

摩西对法老说：“悉听尊便，告诉我何时为你、你臣仆和你的百姓祈求，使青蛙被剪除，离开你和你的宫殿，只留在尼罗河里。”

卑微的弟兄要因高升而夸耀，

或是一个王出去和别的王打仗，岂不先坐下来酌量，他能不能用一万兵去抵抗那领二万兵来攻打他的吗？若是不能，他就趁敌人还远的时候，派使者去谈和平的条件。

纷争掀起，如同缺口的水；因此，争端尚未爆发就当制止。

过路时卷入与己无关的纷争，好像人揪住狗耳一般。

耶和华如此说：“智慧人不要因他的智慧夸口，勇士不要因他的力气夸口，财主也不要因他的财富夸口；夸口的却要夸自己有聪明，认识我是耶和华，知道我喜悦在世上施行慈爱、公平和公义。这是耶和华说的。

“人子啊，你要面向玛各地的歌革，就是米设和土巴的大王，向他说预言。

他们当中有波斯人、古实人和弗人，都带着盾牌和头盔；
