But the LORD had mercy on them and felt pity for them. He extended his favor to them because of the promise he had made to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. He has been unwilling to destroy them or remove them from his presence to this very day.

但耶和华仍然施恩给他们，怜悯他们，眷顾他们，这是因为他与亚伯拉罕、以撒和雅各所立的约，不愿意毁灭他们，把他们从自己的面前丢弃，直到今日。

但是永恆主卻因他和亞伯拉罕、以撒、雅各、所立之約的緣故，仍然恩待以色列人，憐恤他們，垂顧他們、不情願使他們滅絕，所以直到現在還沒有丟掉他們離開自己面前。

惟耶和華因與亞伯拉罕以撒雅各所立之約、施恩矜恤之、眷顧之、尚不滅之、不逐之於其前、

耶和華念與亞伯拉罕以撒雅各所立之約、故待以色列族仁慈矜恤、不欲盡滅、驅於其前。

然主因與亞伯拉罕以撒雅各所立之約故、仍施恩於以色列人、矜恤之、眷顧之、不欲盡滅之、尚未逐於其前、

But the Lord was gracious to them and had compassion and showed concern for them because of his covenant with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. To this day he has been unwilling to destroy them or banish them from his presence.

But the Lord helped Israel. He was tender and kind to them. He showed concern for them. He did all these things because of the covenant he had made with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. To this day he hasn’t been willing to destroy Israel. And he hasn’t driven them out of his land.

But the Lord was gracious to them and had compassion on them, and he turned toward them, because of his covenant with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and would not destroy them, nor has he cast them from his presence until now.

But the Lord was gracious and merciful to the people of Israel, and they were not totally destroyed. He pitied them because of his covenant with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. And to this day he still has not completely destroyed them or banished them from his presence.

There is no other God like you! You forgive sin and pardon the rebellion of those who remain among your people. You do not remain angry forever, but delight in showing loyal love.You will once again have mercy on us; you will conquer our evil deeds; you will hurl our sins into the depths of the sea.You will be loyal to Jacob and extend your loyal love to Abraham, which you promised on oath to our ancestors in ancient times.

The LORD had not decreed that he would blot out Israel’s memory from under heaven, so he delivered them through Jeroboam son of Joash.

And I will make your descendants like the dust of the earth, so that if anyone is able to count the dust of the earth, then your descendants also can be counted.Get up and walk throughout the land, for I will give it to you.”

But respond favorably to your servant’s prayer and his request for help, O LORD my God. Answer the desperate prayer your servant is presenting to you today.

What follows is a record of what happened to Jerusalem and Judah because of the LORD’s anger; he finally threw them out of his presence. Zedekiah rebelled against the king of Babylon.

Then I will confirm my covenant between me and you, and I will give you a multitude of descendants.”Abram bowed down with his face to the ground, and God said to him,“ As for me, this is my covenant with you: You will be the father of a multitude of nations.No longer will your name be Abram. Instead, your name will be Abraham because I will make you the father of a multitude of nations.

So the LORD was furious with Israel and rejected them; only the tribe of Judah was left.

God heard their groaning, God remembered his covenant with Abraham, with Isaac, and with Jacob,God saw the Israelites, and God understood….

He has done this to show mercy to our ancestors, and to remember his holy covenant–the oath that he swore to our ancestor Abraham. This oath grants

For this reason the LORD is ready to show you mercy; he sits on his throne, ready to have compassion on you. Indeed, the LORD is a just God; all who wait for him in faith will be blessed.For people will live in Zion; in Jerusalem you will weep no more. When he hears your cry of despair, he will indeed show you mercy; when he hears it, he will respond to you.

However, due to your abundant mercy you did not do away with them altogether; you did not abandon them. For you are a merciful and compassionate God.“ So now, our God– the great, powerful, and awesome God, who keeps covenant fidelity– do not regard as inconsequential all the hardship that has befallen us– our kings, our leaders, our priests, our prophets, our ancestors, and all your people– from the days of the kings of Assyria until this very day!

So the LORD said,“ My spirit will not remain in humankind indefinitely, since they are mortal. They will remain for 120 more years.”

They threw away the foreign gods they owned and worshiped the LORD. Finally the LORD grew tired of seeing Israel suffer so much.

He added,“ I am the God of your father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.” Then Moses hid his face, because he was afraid to look at God.The LORD said,“ I have surely seen the affliction of my people who are in Egypt. I have heard their cry because of their taskmasters, for I know their sorrows.

But after I have uprooted the people of those nations, I will relent and have pity on them. I will restore the people of each of those nations to their own lands and to their own country.

Do not reject me! Do not take your Holy Spirit away from me!

I will confirm my covenant as a perpetual covenant between me and you. It will extend to your descendants after you throughout their generations. I will be your God and the God of your descendants after you.I will give the whole land of Canaan– the land where you are now residing– to you and your descendants after you as a permanent possession. I will be their God.”

And the LORD said,“ I will make all my goodness pass before your face, and I will proclaim the LORD by name before you; I will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, I will show mercy to whom I will show mercy.”

The LORD will judge his people, and will change his plans concerning his servants; when he sees that their power has disappeared, and that no one is left, whether confined or set free.

The LORD passed by before him and proclaimed:“ The LORD, the LORD, the compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, and abounding in loyal love and faithfulness,keeping loyal love for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin. But he by no means leaves the guilty unpunished, responding to the transgression of fathers by dealing with children and children’s children, to the third and fourth generation.”

Remember Abraham, Isaac, and Israel your servants, to whom you swore by yourself and told them,‘ I will multiply your descendants like the stars of heaven, and all this land that I have spoken about I will give to your descendants, and they will inherit it forever.’”Then the LORD relented over the evil that he had said he would do to his people.

They will undergo the penalty of eternal destruction, away from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of his strength,

But you, O Lord, are a compassionate and merciful God. You are patient and demonstrate great loyal love and faithfulness.

I will remember my covenant with Jacob and also my covenant with Isaac and also my covenant with Abraham, and I will remember the land.

He has helped his servant Israel, remembering his mercy,as he promised to our ancestors, to Abraham and to his descendants forever.”

Though he causes us grief, he then has compassion on us according to the abundance of his loyal kindness.

He always remembers his covenantal decree, the promise he made to a thousand generations–

“ Then he will say to those on his left,‘ Depart from me, you accursed, into the eternal fire that has been prepared for the devil and his angels!
