Elisha said,“ Open the east window,” and he did so. Elisha said,“ Shoot!” and he did so. Elisha said,“ This arrow symbolizes the victory the LORD will give you over Syria. You will annihilate Syria in Aphek!”

“ Open the east window,” he said, and he opened it.“ Shoot!” Elisha said, and he shot.“ The Lord’s arrow of victory, the arrow of victory over Aram!” Elisha declared.“ You will completely destroy the Arameans at Aphek.”

“ Open the east window,” Elisha said. So he did.“ Shoot!” Elisha said. So he shot.“ That’s the Lord’ s arrow!” Elisha announced.“ It means you will win the battle over Aram! You will completely destroy the men of Aram at Aphek.”

And he said,“ Open the window eastward,” and he opened it. Then Elisha said,“ Shoot,” and he shot. And he said,“ The Lord’s arrow of victory, the arrow of victory over Syria! For you shall fight the Syrians in Aphek until you have made an end of them.”

Then he commanded,“ Open that eastern window,” and he opened it. Then he said,“ Shoot!” So he shot an arrow. Elisha proclaimed,“ This is the Lord’s arrow, an arrow of victory over Aram, for you will completely conquer the Arameans at Aphek.”

Elisha said,“ Open the east window.” So he opened it. Elisha said,“ Shoot!” So he shot. Then Elisha said,“ The LORD’s arrow of victory, yes, the arrow of victory over Aram. You are to strike down the Arameans in Aphek until you have put an end to them.”

And he said,“ Open the window toward the east,” and he opened it. Then Elisha said,“ Shoot!” So he shot. And he said,“ The Lord’s arrow of victory, and the arrow of victory over Aram; for you will defeat the Arameans at Aphek until you have put an end to them.”

And he said,“ Open the east window”; and he opened it. Then Elisha said,“ Shoot”; and he shot. And he said,“ The arrow of the LORD’s deliverance and the arrow of deliverance from Syria; for you must strike the Syrians at Aphek till you have destroyed them.”

And he said, Open the window eastward; and he opened it. Then Elisha said, Shoot; and he shot. And he said, Jehovah’s arrow of victory, even the arrow of victory over Syria; for thou shalt smite the Syrians in Aphek, till thou have consumed them.

Elisha said,“ Open the east window.” So he opened it. Elisha said,“ Shoot!” So he shot. Then Elisha said,“ The Lord’s arrow of victory, yes, the arrow of victory over Aram. You are to strike down the Arameans in Aphek until you have put an end to them.”

And he said, Open the window eastward. And he opened[ it]. Then Elisha said, Shoot. And he shot. And he said, The arrow of the LORD’S deliverance, and the arrow of deliverance from Syria: for thou shalt smite the Syrians in Aphek, till thou have consumed[ them].

He said,“ Open the window eastward;” and he opened it. Then Elisha said,“ Shoot!” and he shot. He said,“ Yahweh’s arrow of victory, even the arrow of victory over Syria; for you will strike the Syrians in Aphek, until you have consumed them.”

In the spring Ben Hadad mustered the Syrian army and marched to Aphek to fight Israel.

His mother told the servants,“ Whatever he tells you, do it.”Now there were six stone water jars there for Jewish ceremonial washing, each holding twenty or thirty gallons.Jesus told the servants,“ Fill the water jars with water.” So they filled them up to the very top.Then he told them,“ Now draw some out and take it to the head steward,” and they did.

Elisha sent out a messenger who told him,“ Go and wash seven times in the Jordan; your skin will be restored and you will be healed.”Naaman went away angry. He said,“ Look, I thought for sure he would come out, stand there, invoke the name of the LORD his God, wave his hand over the area, and cure the skin disease.The rivers of Damascus, the Abana and Pharpar, are better than any of the waters of Israel! Could I not wash in them and be healed?” So he turned around and went away angry.His servants approached and said to him,“ O master, if the prophet had told you to do some difficult task, you would have been willing to do it. It seems you should be happy that he simply said,“ Wash and you will be healed.”So he went down and dipped in the Jordan seven times, as the prophet had instructed. His skin became as smooth as a young child’s and he was healed.

That night the LORD said to Gideon,“ Get up! Attack the camp, for I am handing it over to you.But if you are afraid to attack, go down to the camp with Purah your servantand listen to what they are saying. Then you will be brave and attack the camp.” So he went down with Purah his servant to where the sentries were guarding the camp.Now the Midianites, Amalekites, and the people from the east covered the valley like a swarm of locusts. Their camels could not be counted; they were as innumerable as the sand on the seashore.When Gideon arrived, he heard a man telling another man about a dream he had. The man said,“ Look! I had a dream. I saw a stale cake of barley bread rolling into the Midianite camp. It hit a tent so hard it knocked it over and turned it upside down. The tent just collapsed.”The other man said,“ Without a doubt this symbolizes the sword of Gideon son of Joash, the Israelite. God is handing Midian and all the army over to him.”When Gideon heard the report of the dream and its interpretation, he praised God. Then he went back to the Israelite camp and said,“ Get up, for the LORD is handing the Midianite army over to you!”He divided the three hundred men into three units. He gave them all trumpets and empty jars with torches inside them.He said to them,“ Watch me and do as I do. Watch closely! I am going to the edge of the camp. Do as I do!When I and all who are with me blow our trumpets, you also blow your trumpets all around the camp. Then say,‘ For the LORD and for Gideon!’”Gideon took a hundred men to the edge of the camp at the beginning of the middle watch, just after they had changed the guards. They blew their trumpets and broke the jars they were carrying.All three units blew their trumpets and broke their jars. They held the torches in their left hand and the trumpets in their right. Then they yelled,“ A sword for the LORD and for Gideon!”

For the message about the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.

Samuel revealed the word of the LORD to all Israel. Then the Israelites went out to fight the Philistines. They camped at Ebenezer, and the Philistines camped at Aphek.

You will also take in your hand this staff, with which you will do the signs.”

Jesus said,“ Take away the stone.” Martha, the sister of the deceased, replied,“ Lord, by this time the body will have a bad smell, because he has been buried four days.”Jesus responded,“ Didn’t I tell you that if you believe, you would see the glory of God?”So they took away the stone. Jesus looked upward and said,“ Father, I thank you that you have listened to me.

When you hear the sound of marching in the tops of the trees, act decisively. For at that moment the LORD is going before you to strike down the army of the Philistines.”

The LORD said to him,“ What is that in your hand?” He said,“ A staff.”
