于是约阿施王召了耶何耶大祭司和众祭司来，说：“你们为什么不修理圣殿毁坏的地方呢？现在不要向你们熟识的人收取银子，却要把所收的交出来，修理圣殿毁坏的地方。”

所以約阿施王召了大祭司耶何耶大和眾祭司來，對他們說：「你們怎麼不修理殿的破壞之處呢？從今以後，你們不要從所認識的人再收銀子，要將所收的交出來，修理殿的破壞之處。」

於是約阿施王召了耶何耶大祭司和眾祭司來，說：“你們為甚麼不修理聖殿毀壞的地方呢？現在不要向你們熟識的人收取銀子，卻要把所收的交出來，修理聖殿毀壞的地方。”

於是約阿施王把祭司耶何耶大和祭司們召了來，對他們說：『你們怎麼不修理聖殿破壞的地方呢？現在你們不要再從熟識的人收銀子了，乃要將所收的交出來，作修理破壞地方之用。』

故約阿施王召大祭司耶何耶大、與眾祭司、謂之曰、殿宇破壞、胡不修葺、今而後、勿復受相識者之金、宜出此金、修葺殿宇之破壞、

故約轄王召祭司長耶何耶大、與眾祭司、告之曰、殿之所損者、胡為至今猶未修葺、今而後不許爾曹、為修葺殿宇之故、受同宗之金。

故約阿施召大祭司耶何耶大與眾祭司、謂之曰、殿宇破壞之處、爾何不修葺乎、自今以後、勿復受銀於相識者、此銀當用以修葺殿宇破壞之處、

Therefore King Joash summoned Jehoiada the priest and the other priests and asked them,“ Why aren’t you repairing the damage done to the temple? Take no more money from your treasurers, but hand it over for repairing the temple.”

So the king sent for Jehoiada the priest and the other priests. He asked them,“ Why aren’t you repairing the temple where it needs it? Don’t take any more money from the people in charge of the treasures. Instead, hand it over so the temple can be repaired.”

Therefore King Jehoash summoned Jehoiada the priest and the other priests and said to them,“ Why are you not repairing the house? Now therefore take no more money from your donors, but hand it over for the repair of the house.”

So King Joash called for Jehoiada and the other priests and asked them,“ Why haven’t you repaired the Temple? Don’t use any more money for your own needs. From now on, it must all be spent on Temple repairs.”

So King Joash called the priest Jehoiada and the other priests and asked,“ Why haven’t you repaired the temple’s damage? Since you haven’t, don’t take any silver from your assessors; instead, hand it over for the repair of the temple.”

So King Jehoash summoned Jehoiada the priest, and the other priests, and said to them,“ Why do you not repair damage to the house? Now then, you are not to take any more money from your acquaintances, but give it up for the damage to the house.”

So King Jehoash called Jehoiada the priest and the other priests, and said to them,“ Why have you not repaired the damages of the temple? Now therefore, do not take more money from your constituency, but deliver it for repairing the damages of the temple.”

Then king Jehoash called for Jehoiada the priest, and for the other priests, and said unto them, Why repair ye not the breaches of the house? now therefore take no more money from your acquaintance, but deliver it for the breaches of the house.

So King Joash called Jehoiada the priest and the other priests and said,“ Why haven’t you repaired the temple’s damage? Since you haven’t, don’t take any money from your assessors; instead, hand it over for the repair of the temple.”

Then king Jehoash called for Jehoiada the priest, and the[ other] priests, and said unto them, Why repair ye not the breaches of the house? now therefore receive no[ more] money of your acquaintance, but deliver it for the breaches of the house.

So King Jehoash summoned Jehoiada the priest along with the other priests, and said to them,“ Why have you not repaired the damage to the temple? Now, take no more silver from your treasurers unless you intend to use it to repair the damage.”

Then king Jehoash called for Jehoiada the priest, and for the other priests, and said to them,“ Why don’t you repair the damage to the house? Now therefore take no more money from your treasurers, but deliver it for repair of the damage to the house.”

He was buried with the kings in the City of David, because of the good he had done in Israel for God and his temple. (niv)

Joash did what was right in the eyes of the Lord all the years Jehoiada the priest instructed him. (niv)

In the seventh year Jehoiada showed his strength. He made a covenant with the commanders of units of a hundred: Azariah son of Jeroham, Ishmael son of Jehohanan, Azariah son of Obed, Maaseiah son of Adaiah, and Elishaphat son of Zikri. (niv)

In the seventh year Jehoiada sent for the commanders of units of a hundred, the Carites and the guards and had them brought to him at the temple of the Lord. He made a covenant with them and put them under oath at the temple of the Lord. Then he showed them the king’s son. (niv)

But Joab replied,“ May the Lord multiply his troops a hundred times over. My lord the king, are they not all my lord’s subjects? Why does my lord want to do this? Why should he bring guilt on Israel?” (niv)

He called together the priests and Levites and said to them,“ Go to the towns of Judah and collect the money due annually from all Israel, to repair the temple of your God. Do it now.” But the Levites did not act at once.Therefore the king summoned Jehoiada the chief priest and said to him,“ Why haven’t you required the Levites to bring in from Judah and Jerusalem the tax imposed by Moses the servant of the Lord and by the assembly of Israel for the tent of the covenant law?”Now the sons of that wicked woman Athaliah had broken into the temple of God and had used even its sacred objects for the Baals.At the king’s command, a chest was made and placed outside, at the gate of the temple of the Lord.A proclamation was then issued in Judah and Jerusalem that they should bring to the Lord the tax that Moses the servant of God had required of Israel in the wilderness.All the officials and all the people brought their contributions gladly, dropping them into the chest until it was full.Whenever the chest was brought in by the Levites to the king’s officials and they saw that there was a large amount of money, the royal secretary and the officer of the chief priest would come and empty the chest and carry it back to its place. They did this regularly and collected a great amount of money.The king and Jehoiada gave it to those who carried out the work required for the temple of the Lord. They hired masons and carpenters to restore the Lord’s temple, and also workers in iron and bronze to repair the temple.The men in charge of the work were diligent, and the repairs progressed under them. They rebuilt the temple of God according to its original design and reinforced it.When they had finished, they brought the rest of the money to the king and Jehoiada, and with it were made articles for the Lord’s temple: articles for the service and for the burnt offerings, and also dishes and other objects of gold and silver. As long as Jehoiada lived, burnt offerings were presented continually in the temple of the Lord. (niv)
