於是耶何耶大祭司把神的殿裡，原本屬於大衛王的矛槍、大盾和小盾，交給了眾百夫長；他又分派眾民，手中各拿兵器，守在祭壇和殿的四周，從殿的右面到殿的左面，環繞著王。

所羅門為耶和華的殿所作的一切工程完成了以後，就把他父親大衛分別為聖的東西：金銀和一切器皿，都帶來存放在神殿的庫房裡。

祭司回答：“有一把刀，是你從前在以拉谷擊殺的那非利士人歌利亞的刀。這刀用布包著，放在以弗得後面，你若是要拿去自用，就拿去吧，因為這裡除了這刀以外，再沒有別的武器了。”大衛說：“沒有比這更好的刀了，請你給我吧！”

這示羅密和他的兄弟掌管庫房裡的一切聖物，就是大衛王、眾家族首領、千夫長、百夫長和軍長所獻的聖物。他們把在戰場上掠奪的財物獻上，用作修建耶和華的殿。
