Then Jehu brought all the people together and said to them,“ Ahab served Baal a little; Jehu will serve him much.

他犯了尼八的兒子耶羅波安所犯的罪，還當作是小事，又娶了西頓王謁巴力的女兒耶洗別為妻，去事奉巴力，敬拜它，又在撒瑪利亞建巴力廟，在廟裏為巴力築壇。

末了，弟兄們，凡是真實的、凡是可敬的、凡是公義的、凡是清潔的、凡是可愛的、凡是有美名的，若有甚麼德行，若有甚麼稱讚，你們都要留意。

他行耶和華眼中看為惡的事，但不致像他父母所行的，因為他除掉他父所造巴力的柱像。

為甚麼不說，我們可以作惡以成善呢？有人毀謗我們，說我們講過這話；這等人被定罪是應該的。

你們要為神說不義的話嗎？要為他說詭詐的言語嗎？

以利亞對他們說：「拿住巴力的先知，不讓任何人逃走！」眾人就拿住他們。以利亞帶他們到基順河邊，在那裏殺了他們。

現在你要派人去召集以色列眾人，以及耶洗別所供養的四百五十個巴力的先知和四百個亞舍拉的先知，叫他們都上迦密山到我這裏來。」

以利亞對百姓說：「作耶和華先知的只剩下我一個；巴力的先知卻有四百五十人。
