耶户召集众百姓，对他们说：“亚哈事奉巴力还不够热心，耶户更要热心。

Then Jehu brought all the people together and said to them,“ Ahab served Baal a little; Jehu will serve him much.

他犯了尼八的儿子耶罗波安所犯的罪，还当作是小事，又娶了西顿王谒巴力的女儿耶洗别为妻，去事奉巴力，敬拜它，又在撒玛利亚建巴力庙，在庙里为巴力筑坛。

末了，弟兄们，凡是真实的、凡是可敬的、凡是公义的、凡是清洁的、凡是可爱的、凡是有美名的，若有什么德行，若有什么称赞，你们都要留意。

他行耶和华眼中看为恶的事，但不致像他父母所行的，因为他除掉他父所造巴力的柱像。

为什么不说，我们可以作恶以成善呢？有人毁谤我们，说我们讲过这话；这等人被定罪是应该的。

你们要为神说不义的话吗？要为他说诡诈的言语吗？

以利亚对他们说：“拿住巴力的先知，不让任何人逃走！”众人就拿住他们。以利亚带他们到基顺河边，在那里杀了他们。

现在你要派人去召集以色列众人，以及耶洗别所供养的四百五十个巴力的先知和四百个亚舍拉的先知，叫他们都上迦密山到我这里来。”

以利亚对百姓说：“作耶和华先知的只剩下我一个；巴力的先知却有四百五十人。
