昔耶和華命厥僕以利亞、論亞哈之家、今已行之、蓋耶和華之言必無不應、爾眾所當知也。

Know, then, that not a word the Lord has spoken against the house of Ahab will fail. The Lord has done what he announced through his servant Elijah.”

“ Do you see how Ahab has humbled himself before me? Because he has done this, I will not do what I promised during his lifetime. It will happen to his sons; I will destroy his dynasty.”

You are to destroy the family of Ahab, your master. In this way, I will avenge the murder of my prophets and all the Lord’s servants who were killed by Jezebel.The entire family of Ahab must be wiped out. I will destroy every one of his male descendants, slave and free alike, anywhere in Israel.I will destroy the family of Ahab as I destroyed the families of Jeroboam son of Nebat and of Baasha son of Ahijah.Dogs will eat Ahab’s wife Jezebel at the plot of land in Jezreel, and no one will bury her.” Then the young prophet opened the door and ran.

Give him this message:‘ This is what the Lord says: Wasn’t it enough that you killed Naboth? Must you rob him, too? Because you have done this, dogs will lick your blood at the very place where they licked the blood of Naboth!’”

When they returned and told Jehu, he stated,“ This fulfills the message from the Lord, which he spoke through his servant Elijah from Tishbe:‘ At the plot of land in Jezreel, dogs will eat Jezebel’s body.

And he who is the Glory of Israel will not lie, nor will he change his mind, for he is not human that he should change his mind!”

But everything I said through my servants the prophets happened to your ancestors, just as I said. As a result, they repented and said,‘ We have received what we deserved from the Lord of Heaven’s Armies. He has done what he said he would do.’”
