“ A man came to meet us,” they replied.“ And he said to us,‘ Go back to the king who sent you and tell him,“ This is what the Lord says: Is it because there is no God in Israel that you are sending messengers to consult Baal-Zebub, the god of Ekron? Therefore you will not leave the bed you are lying on. You will certainly die!”’”

他们答道：“有一个人在路上截住我们，要我们回来告诉你，耶和华对你说，‘你差人去求问以革伦的神明巴力·西卜，是因为以色列没有上帝吗？因此，你再也不能下床了，你必定死。’”

他们对王说：“有一个人上来迎着我们，又对我们说：‘去吧，回到那差派你们的王那里，对他说：耶和华这样说：你派人去求问以革伦的神巴力．西卜，是因为以色列中没有神吗？因此，你必不能从你躺上去的那张床上下来，因为你必定死。’”

使者回答他說：『有一個人迎着我們而上來，對我們說：「去吧，你們回去見那差遣你們的王，對他說：永恆主這樣說：是不是因為以色列中沒有上帝，而你得差遣人去尋問以革倫的神巴力西卜呢？這樣，你所上的床、你必不能從那裏下來；你必定死。」』

曰、有人迎而告我曰、返見遣爾之王曰、耶和華云、以色列中豈無上帝、乃遣人詢以革倫神巴力西卜乎、故爾所登之牀、不得再下、必死矣、

曰、有人迓我、使我以耶和華所言、反告於王云、在以色列中、豈無上帝、乃遣人詢以革倫之上帝巴力西卜乎。故爾寢於床、不得再下、至於死亡。

曰、有人迎我、告我曰、可返見遣爾之王、告之曰、主如是云、以色列中豈無天主、爾乃遣人往問以革倫之神巴力西卜乎、故主如是云、爾寢於床、不得再下、爾必死矣、

“ A man met us on our way there,” they replied.“ He said to us,‘ Go back to the king who sent you. Tell him,“ The Lord says,‘ You are sending messengers to ask Baal- Zebub for advice. He is the god of Ekron. Are you going there to pray to that god? Do you think there is no God in Israel? You will never leave the bed you are lying on. You can be sure that you will die!’ ” ’ ”

And they said to him,“ There came a man to meet us, and said to us,‘ Go back to the king who sent you, and say to him, Thus says the Lord, Is it because there is no God in Israel that you are sending to inquire of Baal-zebub, the god of Ekron? Therefore you shall not come down from the bed to which you have gone up, but you shall surely die.’”

They replied,“ A man came up to us and told us to go back to the king and give him this message.‘ This is what the Lord says: Is there no God in Israel? Why are you sending men to Baal zebub, the god of Ekron, to ask whether you will recover? Therefore, because you have done this, you will never leave the bed you are lying on; you will surely die.’”

They replied,“ A man came to meet us and said,‘ Go back to the king who sent you and declare to him,“ This is what the LORD says: Is it because there is no God in Israel that you’re sending these men to inquire of Baal-zebub, the god of Ekron? Therefore, you will not get up from your sickbed; you will certainly die.”’”

They said to him,“ A man came up to meet us and said to us,‘ Go, return to the king who sent you and say to him,“ This is what the Lord says:‘ Is it because there is no God in Israel that you are sending messengers to inquire of Baal zebub, the god of Ekron? Therefore you will not get down from the bed upon which you have lain, but you shall certainly die.’ ” ’ ”

So they said to him,“ A man came up to meet us, and said to us,‘ Go, return to the king who sent you, and say to him,“ Thus says the Lord:‘ Is it because there is no God in Israel that you are sending to inquire of Baal-Zebub, the god of Ekron? Therefore you shall not come down from the bed to which you have gone up, but you shall surely die.’”’ ”

And they said unto him, There came up a man to meet us, and said unto us, Go, turn again unto the king that sent you, and say unto him, Thus saith Jehovah, Is it because there is no God in Israel, that thou sendest to inquire of Baal- zebub, the god of Ekron? therefore thou shalt not come down from the bed whither thou art gone up, but shalt surely die.

They replied,“ A man came to meet us and said,‘ Go back to the king who sent you and declare to him: This is what the Lord says: Is it because there is no God in Israel that you’re sending these men to inquire of Baal-zebub, the god of Ekron? Therefore, you will not get up from your sickbed— you will certainly die.’”

And they said unto him, There came a man up to meet us, and said unto us, Go, turn again unto the king that sent you, and say unto him, Thus saith the LORD,[ Is it] not because[ there is] not a God in Israel,[ that] thou sendest to enquire of Baalzebub the god of Ekron? therefore thou shalt not come down from that bed on which thou art gone up, but shalt surely die.

They replied,“ A man came up to meet us. He told us,“ Go back to the king who sent you and tell him,‘ This is what the LORD says:“ You must think there is no God in Israel! That explains why you are sending for an oracle from Baal Zebub, the god of Ekron. Therefore you will not leave the bed you lie on, for you will certainly die.”’”

They said to him,“ A man came up to meet us, and said to us,‘ Go, return to the king who sent you, and tell him,“ Yahweh says,‘ Is it because there is no God in Israel, that you send to inquire of Baal Zebub, the god of Ekron? Therefore you will not come down from the bed where you have gone up, but you will surely die.’”’”

“ Tell us, you idols, what is going to happen. Tell us what the former things were, so that we may consider them and know their final outcome. Or declare to us the things to come,tell us what the future holds, so we may know that you are gods. Do something, whether good or bad, so that we will be dismayed and filled with fear.

Saul died because he was unfaithful to the Lord; he did not keep the word of the Lord and even consulted a medium for guidance,and did not inquire of the Lord. So the Lord put him to death and turned the kingdom over to David son of Jesse.

Those who run after other gods will suffer more and more. I will not pour out libations of blood to such gods or take up their names on my lips.

Now Ahaziah had fallen through the lattice of his upper room in Samaria and injured himself. So he sent messengers, saying to them,“ Go and consult Baal-Zebub, the god of Ekron, to see if I will recover from this injury.”But the angel of the Lord said to Elijah the Tishbite,“ Go up and meet the messengers of the king of Samaria and ask them,‘ Is it because there is no God in Israel that you are going off to consult Baal-Zebub, the god of Ekron?’Therefore this is what the Lord says:‘ You will not leave the bed you are lying on. You will certainly die!’” So Elijah went.
