看哪，我今天怎樣看重你的命，願耶和華也怎樣看重我的命，並且救我脫離一切患難。”

他要救他們脫離欺凌和強暴，他們的血在他眼中看為寶貴。

但我並不珍惜自己的性命，只求跑完我的路程，完成我從主耶穌所領受的職分，為神恩惠的福音作見證。

掃羅說：“我有罪了，我兒大衛啊，你回來吧！因為今天你看我的命為寶貴，我必不再害你。看哪！我作了糊塗事了，並且錯得很厲害。”

（因為他生命的贖價非常昂貴，只好永遠放棄，）

凡是想救自己生命的，必喪掉生命；但為我犧牲生命的，必得著生命。人若賺得全世界，卻賠上自己的生命，有甚麼好處呢？人還能用甚麼換回自己的生命呢？

因為妓女使人只剩一塊餅，通姦的婦人（“通姦的婦人”直譯是“人的妻子”）獵取人寶貴的生命。

以利亞回答五十夫長說：“如果我是神人，願火從天降下，把你和你的五十名手下吞滅。”於是有火從天降下，吞滅了五十夫長和他的五十名手下。王再次派一個五十夫長和他的五十名手下到以利亞那裡去。那五十夫長對以利亞說：“神人哪！王這樣吩咐：‘你趕快下來。’”

在耶和華的眼中看來，聖民的死極為寶貴。
