Elijah answered the captain,“ If I am a man of God, may fire come down from heaven and consume you and your fifty men!” Then fire fell from heaven and consumed the captain and his men.

Elijah answered the captain,“ If I’m really a man of God, may fire come down from heaven! May it burn up you and your 50 men!” Then fire came down from heaven. It burned up the captain and his men.

But Elijah answered the captain of fifty,“ If I am a man of God, let fire come down from heaven and consume you and your fifty.” Then fire came down from heaven and consumed him and his fifty.

But Elijah replied to the captain,“ If I am a man of God, let fire come down from heaven and destroy you and your fifty men!” Then fire fell from heaven and killed them all.

Elijah responded to the captain,“ If I am a man of God, may fire come down from heaven and consume you and your fifty men.” Then fire came down from heaven and consumed him and his fifty men.

Elijah replied to the captain,“ If I am indeed a prophet, may fire come down from the sky and consume you and your fifty soldiers!” Fire then came down from the sky and consumed him and his fifty soldiers.

門徒雅各和約翰看見了，就說：「主啊，你要我們吩咐火從天上降下來燒滅他們嗎？」

如果有人想要傷害他們，火就從他們的口中出來，吞滅他們的敵人；如果有人想要傷害他們，就必定這樣被殺。

要知道，我們的神實在是吞噬的烈火。

「你們不可碰我的受膏者，不可惡待我的先知。」

火在他們的同黨中燃燒，火焰燒盡了惡人。

由於從王發出的命令急迫，窯又燒得非常熱，烈火的火焰燒死了那些抬沙德拉克、米沙克、亞伯尼哥的人。

王又下令，人就把那些惡意控告但以理的人帶來，把他們連同他們的兒女、妻子都扔進獅子坑。他們還沒有落到坑底，那些獅子就撲住他們，把他們全身的骨頭都咬碎了。

希律搜尋彼得，卻沒有找到，就審問衛兵們，下令把他們處決了。後來希律離開猶太，下到凱撒里亞去，住在那裡。

王回應說：「看哪，我看到有四個人，並沒有被綁著，在烈火中行走，身上也沒有損傷，而那第四個人，他的樣貌彷彿神子。」

看，我為此差派先知、智者、經師到你們這裡來；有些你們要殺害、要釘上十字架，有些要在會堂裡鞭打，從一個城追逼到另一個城。所以，從義人亞伯的血起，直到你們在聖所和祭壇之間所殺的巴拉加的兒子撒迦利亞的血為止，在地上所流的義人的血都要歸在你們身上。我確實地告訴你們：這一切都要臨到這世代。「耶路撒冷啊，耶路撒冷！這城殺害先知們，又用石頭砸死被差到她這裡的人！我多次想聚集你的兒女，像母雞把自己的小雞聚集在翅膀下，可是你們不願意！

他們回答說：「他會狠狠地除滅那些惡人，把葡萄園另租給按時交果子的農夫們。」

彼得就說：「阿納尼亞，為什麼撒旦充滿了你的心，使你對聖靈說謊，從田產的價款中私自留下一些呢？田產留著沒賣的時候，難道不屬於你的嗎？賣了以後，價款難道不也是由你做主嗎？你心裡為什麼存有這種念頭呢？你不是對人說謊，而是對神說謊了。」阿納尼亞聽見這話，就仆倒斷了氣；所有聽到這事的人都大為恐懼。有幾個年輕人站起來，把他的屍體裹好，抬出去埋葬了。隔了大約三個小時，阿納尼亞的妻子進來，還不知道所發生的事。彼得問她：「告訴我，你們賣田產的錢，是不是這麼多？」她說：「是的，就這麼多。」彼得就對她說：「你們為什麼同心試探主的靈呢？看，埋葬你丈夫之人的腳，已經到門口了，他們也要把你抬出去。」她立刻仆倒在彼得腳前，斷了氣。那些年輕人進來，看見她死了，也把她抬了出去，埋葬在她丈夫的旁邊。
