If your gift is to encourage others, be encouraging. If it is giving, give generously. If God has given you leadership ability, take the responsibility seriously. And if you have a gift for showing kindness to others, do it gladly.

“ But if there are any poor Israelites in your towns when you arrive in the land the Lord your God is giving you, do not be hard hearted or tightfisted toward them.Instead, be generous and lend them whatever they need.Do not be mean spirited and refuse someone a loan because the year for canceling debts is close at hand. If you refuse to make the loan and the needy person cries out to the Lord, you will be considered guilty of sin.Give generously to the poor, not grudgingly, for the Lord your God will bless you in everything you do.There will always be some in the land who are poor. That is why I am commanding you to share freely with the poor and with other Israelites in need.

Take a sacred offering for the Lord. Let those with generous hearts present the following gifts to the Lord: gold, silver, and bronze;

Don’t eat with people who are stingy; don’t desire their delicacies.They are always thinking about how much it costs.“ Eat and drink,” they say, but they don’t mean it.You will throw up what little you’ve eaten, and your compliments will be wasted.

Don’t grumble about each other, brothers and sisters, or you will be judged. For look— the Judge is standing at the door!

Give him a generous farewell gift from your flock, your threshing floor, and your winepress. Share with him some of the bounty with which the Lord your God has blessed you.

Blessed are those who are generous, because they feed the poor.

Cheerfully share your home with those who need a meal or a place to stay.

But generous people plan to do what is generous, and they stand firm in their generosity.

In that day ungodly fools will not be heroes. Scoundrels will not be respected.
