蓋此供事之役、不第補聖徒之空乏、且因感謝之多、而得充裕也、

是施濟之職、不第補聖徒不足、益令人徧謝上帝、

蓋此施濟之事、不但補聖徒之不足、亦使多人感謝天主、

是則此項善舉不僅補聖徒之不足、抑且使眾心感謝天主、於以增益天主之光榮。

This service that you perform is not only supplying the needs of the Lord’s people but is also overflowing in many expressions of thanks to God.

Your gifts meet the needs of the Lord’s people. And that’s not all. Your gifts also cause many people to thank God.

For the ministry of this service is not only supplying the needs of the saints but is also overflowing in many thanksgivings to God.

So two good things will result from this ministry of giving— the needs of the believers in Jerusalem will be met, and they will joyfully express their thanks to God.

For this service of giving that you perform not only makes up for lack among the saints, but abounds also through much giving of thanks to God,

凡有世上財物的，看見弟兄缺乏，卻關閉了惻隱的心，神的愛怎能住在他裏面呢？

我的弟兄們，若有人說自己有信心，卻沒有行為，有甚麼益處呢？這信心能救他嗎？若是弟兄或是姊妹沒有衣服穿，又缺少日用的飲食；你們中間有人對他們說：「平平安安地去吧！願你們穿得暖，吃得飽」，卻不給他們身體所需要的，這有甚麼益處呢？

但我已經如數收到，並且有餘；我已經充足，因我從以巴弗提受了你們的饋贈，當作極美的香氣，為神所接納、所喜悅的祭物。我的神必照他榮耀的豐富，在基督耶穌裏，使你們一切所需用的都充足。

我在禱告中記念你的時候，常為你感謝我的神，因聽說你對眾聖徒的愛心，和你對主耶穌的信心。願你與人分享信心的時候，能產生功效，讓人知道我們所行的各樣善事都是為基督做的。弟兄啊，由於你的愛心，我得到極大的快樂和安慰，因為眾聖徒的心從你得到舒暢。

再三懇求我們，准他們在這供給聖徒的善事上有份；

然而，我想必須差以巴弗提到你們那裏去。他是我的弟兄、同工和戰友，是你們差遣來供應我需要的。

關於供給聖徒的事，我本來不必寫信給你們；

就是要你們現在的富餘補他們的不足，使他們的富餘將來也可以補你們的不足，這就均勻了。如經上所記：多收的沒有餘，少收的也沒有缺。

你們也要一同用祈禱來幫助我們，好使許多人為我們感恩，因着他們許多的禱告，我們獲得了恩賜。
