是則此項善舉不僅補聖徒之不足、抑且使眾心感謝天主、於以增益天主之光榮。

This service that you perform is not only supplying the needs of the Lord’s people but is also overflowing in many expressions of thanks to God.

Your gifts meet the needs of the Lord’s people. And that’s not all. Your gifts also cause many people to thank God.

For the ministry of this service is not only supplying the needs of the saints but is also overflowing in many thanksgivings to God.

So two good things will result from this ministry of giving— the needs of the believers in Jerusalem will be met, and they will joyfully express their thanks to God.

凡有人有世上養生之資，見他弟兄有缺乏，卻向他關閉着憐憫的心腸，愛上帝的心怎能存在他裏面呢？

我的弟兄們，若有人說他有信心，卻沒有行為，有甚麼益處呢？難道這信心能救他麼？若有一個弟兄或姐妹素常赤身裸體，又缺欠每日的食物，而你們中間卻有人對他們說：『你們安心去好啦；願你們穿得暖，喫得飽』，卻沒有給他們身體上所必需的，有甚麼益處呢？

但我樣樣都收到了，而且有富餘；我已得補足，因為我從以巴弗提接受了你們那裏所送來的馨香之氣味、可接納的祭物、上帝所喜歡的。我的上帝必照他在榮耀中、在基督耶穌裏的豐富、使你們一切所需用的得了補足。

我禱告的時候提到你、就時常感謝我的上帝，因為聽見你向主耶穌並對眾聖徒所有的愛心和忠信。我願你參於信心的團契能有效力，得以讓人認識我們信徒中歸基督的各樣善事。弟兄啊，我因了你的愛、得了很大的喜樂和鼓勵，因為聖徒的心腸藉着你而得了暢快。

以再三再四的懇請求我們、讓他們將恩惠和團契捐去供應聖徒的需要。

不過我也以為必須打發以巴弗提、我的兄弟跟同工和一同當兵的，你們的使者和供奉者以應我所需的、到你們那裏去，

論到供應聖徒的事、寫信給你們、於我是多餘的。

乃是說要出以均勻。在現今的時候、你們的富餘去補他們的缺乏，為的是將來他們的富餘也可以補你們的缺乏，好有均勻。正如經上所記的：『多揀的沒有過剩，少揀的也沒有不足。』

你們也該為我們的緣故用祈禱相支持，這樣，既有這麼多人、為我們之得救而禱告，就必有這麼多人為了上帝向我們所施的慈恩、而為我們感謝上帝。
