蓋此供事之役、不第補聖徒之空乏、且因感謝之多、而得充裕也、

是施濟之職、不第補聖徒不足、益令人徧謝上帝、

蓋此施濟之事、不但補聖徒之不足、亦使多人感謝天主、

是則此項善舉不僅補聖徒之不足、抑且使眾心感謝天主、於以增益天主之光榮。

This service that you perform is not only supplying the needs of the Lord’s people but is also overflowing in many expressions of thanks to God.

Your gifts meet the needs of the Lord’s people. And that’s not all. Your gifts also cause many people to thank God.

For the ministry of this service is not only supplying the needs of the saints but is also overflowing in many thanksgivings to God.

So two good things will result from this ministry of giving— the needs of the believers in Jerusalem will be met, and they will joyfully express their thanks to God.

For this service of giving that you perform not only makes up for lack among the saints, but abounds also through much giving of thanks to God,

如果一個豐衣足食的人看見貧窮的弟兄姊妹，卻毫無憐憫之心，怎能說他愛上帝呢？

我的弟兄姊妹，如果有人自稱有信心，卻沒有行為來證實，有什麼用呢？這種信心能夠救他嗎？如果有弟兄姊妹缺衣少食，你們只是對他們說：「安心走吧，願你們穿得暖，吃得飽」，卻不幫助他解決實際困難，這有什麼用呢？

我現在樣樣都有，豐富有餘。我從以巴弗提手上收到了你們送給我的禮物，已經充足了。這些饋贈是蒙上帝悅納的馨香祭物。我的上帝必按照祂在基督耶穌裡的榮耀，豐豐富富地賜給你們所需用的一切。

腓利門弟兄，我常常在禱告中為你感謝上帝，因為我聽說了你對主耶穌的信心和對眾聖徒的愛心。我求上帝使你能有效地與人分享信仰，明白我們所做的一切美事都是為了基督。弟兄啊，你的愛心給我帶來極大的喜樂和安慰，因為你使眾聖徒感到欣慰。

他們懇切地求我們准許他們與有需要的聖徒分享上帝的恩典。

另外，我覺得有必要讓以巴弗提回到你們那裡。他是我的弟兄、同工和戰友，也是你們差遣來服侍我、供應我需用的。

關於捐助聖徒的事，其實我不必再寫信提醒你們，

現在你們這些富足的人可以幫補那些有需要的人，以便你們有需要的時候，那些富足的人也可以幫補你們，這樣才均平。正如聖經上說：「多拾的沒有剩餘，少拾的也沒有缺乏。」

你們也要用祈禱幫助我們，使恩典藉著許多人的禱告臨到我們，眾人便因此而為我們感恩。
