是施濟之職、不第補聖徒不足、益令人徧謝上帝、

蓋此施濟之事、不但補聖徒之不足、亦使多人感謝天主、

是則此項善舉不僅補聖徒之不足、抑且使眾心感謝天主、於以增益天主之光榮。

This service that you perform is not only supplying the needs of the Lord’s people but is also overflowing in many expressions of thanks to God.

Your gifts meet the needs of the Lord’s people. And that’s not all. Your gifts also cause many people to thank God.

For the ministry of this service is not only supplying the needs of the saints but is also overflowing in many thanksgivings to God.

Can such faith save them?Suppose a brother or a sister is without clothes and daily food.If one of you says to them,“ Go in peace; keep warm and well fed,” but does nothing about their physical needs, what good is it? I have received full payment and have more than enough. I am amply supplied, now that I have received from Epaphroditus the gifts you sent. They are a fragrant offering, an acceptable sacrifice, pleasing to God.And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus. (niv)
