I am not commanding you, but I want to test the sincerity of your love by comparing it with the earnestness of others.

I say this not as a command, but to prove by the earnestness of others that your love also is genuine.

不過我說這話是出於容忍，而不是出於命令。

每個人要照著心裡預先定好的，不要為難，也不要勉強，因為神喜愛那樂意給與的人。

我的弟兄們，如果有人說自己有信仰，但卻沒有行為，這有什麼好處呢？難道這種信仰能救他嗎？如果有弟兄或姐妹衣不蔽體，又缺乏日用的食物，而你們當中有人對他們說：「平平安安地去吧！願你們穿得暖、吃得飽！」，卻不給他們身體所需要的，這有什麼好處呢？

讓我們彼此看顧，好激勵愛心和美好的工作。

在純潔、知識、耐心、仁慈中，藉著聖靈，在不虛假的愛中，

弟兄們，我們要你們明白神在馬其頓省各教會中所賜的恩典：在患難的極大考驗中，他們的喜樂之滿和貧窮之深都流露出來，歸入他們慷慨之心的財富。因為我可以見證他們是按著自己的能力，甚至超過了自己的能力，甘心樂意，

我們卻要在愛中說真話，在一切事上向著他長進；他就是頭，是基督。

既然他們的過犯能使世人富足，他們的失敗能使外邦人富足，更何況他們的全數滿足呢！現在我向你們外邦人說話：既然我確實是外邦人的使徒，我就以我的服事工作為榮耀，或許激起我同胞的嫉妒之心，好拯救他們中的一些人。

關於童貞的女子，我沒有從主而來的命令，但是我既然蒙主的憐憫成為忠心的人，我就提供意見。

願恩典與所有愛我們主耶穌基督的人同在——直到永遠！

愛，不要虛假；要厭棄惡、持守善；

對其餘的人，我說——不是主說：如果某個弟兄有不信的妻子，而妻子情願與他一起生活，他就不可離棄妻子；

因為我知道你們的樂意之心。為此，我向馬其頓人誇耀你們，說：「亞該亞人從去年就已經準備好了。」你們的熱心激勵了他們中的大多數人。

所以，你們要在各教會面前，向他們顯出你們愛心的憑證，以及我們所誇耀你們的憑據。

我在這件事上提供意見，因為這對你們是有益處的。從去年開始，你們不僅做了這件事，而且願意去做，

你們既然藉著順從真理，使自己的靈魂純潔，以致有了不虛假的弟兄之愛，就應當以潔淨的心，彼此熱切地相愛。
