I am not commanding you, but I want to test the sincerity of your love by comparing it with the earnestness of others.

I am not commanding you to do it. But I want to test you. I want to find out if you really love God. I want to compare your love with that of others.

I say this not as a command, but to prove by the earnestness of others that your love also is genuine.

不过我说这话是出于容忍，而不是出于命令。

每个人要照着心里预先定好的，不要为难，也不要勉强，因为神喜爱那乐意给与的人。

我的弟兄们，如果有人说自己有信仰，但却没有行为，这有什么好处呢？难道这种信仰能救他吗？如果有弟兄或姐妹衣不蔽体，又缺乏日用的食物，而你们当中有人对他们说：“平平安安地去吧！愿你们穿得暖、吃得饱！”，却不给他们身体所需要的，这有什么好处呢？

让我们彼此看顾，好激励爱心和美好的工作。

在纯洁、知识、耐心、仁慈中，藉着圣灵，在不虚假的爱中，

弟兄们，我们要你们明白神在马其顿省各教会中所赐的恩典：在患难的极大考验中，他们的喜乐之满和贫穷之深都流露出来，归入他们慷慨之心的财富。因为我可以见证他们是按着自己的能力，甚至超过了自己的能力，甘心乐意，

我们却要在爱中说真话，在一切事上向着他长进；他就是头，是基督。

既然他们的过犯能使世人富足，他们的失败能使外邦人富足，更何况他们的全数满足呢！现在我向你们外邦人说话：既然我确实是外邦人的使徒，我就以我的服事工作为荣耀，或许激起我同胞的嫉妒之心，好拯救他们中的一些人。

关于童贞的女子，我没有从主而来的命令，但是我既然蒙主的怜悯成为忠心的人，我就提供意见。

愿恩典与所有爱我们主耶稣基督的人同在——直到永远！

爱，不要虚假；要厌弃恶、持守善；

对其余的人，我说——不是主说：如果某个弟兄有不信的妻子，而妻子情愿与他一起生活，他就不可离弃妻子；

因为我知道你们的乐意之心。为此，我向马其顿人夸耀你们，说：“亚该亚人从去年就已经准备好了。”你们的热心激励了他们中的大多数人。

所以，你们要在各教会面前，向他们显出你们爱心的凭证，以及我们所夸耀你们的凭据。

我在这件事上提供意见，因为这对你们是有益处的。从去年开始，你们不仅做了这件事，而且愿意去做，

你们既然藉着顺从真理，使自己的灵魂纯洁，以致有了不虚假的弟兄之爱，就应当以洁净的心，彼此热切地相爱。
