此君且原為諸會所推選、使與吾儕同行、協力勸募、以歸榮於主、而表吾人區區之心。

我來到之後，你們選中了甚麼人，我就派他們帶著書信，把你們的捐款送到耶路撒冷去。如果我也應該去，他們就可以和我一同去。

你們所送的我都全數收到了，而且綽綽有餘；我已經足夠了，因我從以巴弗提收到你們所送的，好像馨香之氣，是神所接納所喜悅的祭物。我的神必照他在基督耶穌裡榮耀的豐富，滿足你們的一切需要。

當時，使徒、長老和全教會都認為好，就從他們中間選出人來，差他們和保羅、巴拿巴一同到安提阿去，所選的就是別號巴撒巴的猶大和西拉，他們是弟兄中的領袖。

因為這供應的事，不僅補足了聖徒的缺乏，也使許多人對神感謝的心格外增多。眾聖徒因為你們承認和服從了基督的福音，並且慷慨地捐輸給他們和眾人，藉著你們在這供應的事上所得的憑據，就把榮耀歸給神。因著神在你們身上的厚恩，他們就為你們禱告，切切地想念你們。

神能把各樣的恩惠多多地加給你們，使你們凡事常常充足，多作各樣的善事。

弟兄們，我現在把神賜給馬其頓眾教會的恩典告訴你們：他們在患難中受到極大的考驗的時候，他們滿溢的喜樂和極度的貧乏，匯流出豐厚的慷慨來。我可以作證，他們是按著能力，並且是超過了能力，自願地再三懇求我們，准許他們在供應聖徒的事上有分。

因此，我們一致同意，選派一些人跟我們親愛的巴拿巴和保羅去見你們，

你們要作神各樣恩賜的好管家，各人照著所領受的恩賜彼此服事。講道的，應當按著神的聖言講；服事的，應當按著神所賜的力量服事，為要在一切事上，使神藉耶穌基督得榮耀。榮耀、權能都是他的，直到永永遠遠。阿們。

因此，我們勉勵提多，既然開始了這慈善的事，就應當在你們那裡把這事辦好。你們在一切事上，就如信心、口才、知識、熱情和愛我們的心，既然都是富足的，那麼，在這慈善的事上，也要顯出你們是富足的。

所以弟兄們，應當從你們中間選出七個有好見證、滿有聖靈和智慧的人，我們就派他們負責這事。至於我們，我們要專心祈禱、傳道。”這個意見全會眾都很滿意，於是選出司提反，他是一位滿有信心和聖靈的人，還有腓利、伯羅哥羅、尼加挪、提門、巴米拿，以及歸信猶太教的安提阿人尼哥拉，叫他們站在使徒面前。使徒禱告後，就為他們按手。
