For if the readiness is there, it is acceptable according to what a person has, not according to what he does not have.

惟所貴在心、但望各人隨量樂助、勿取過其量也。

For if the willingness is there, the gift is acceptable according to what one has, not according to what one does not have.

Do you really want to give? Then the gift is measured by what someone has. It is not measured by what they don’t have.

Whatever you give is acceptable if you give it eagerly. And give according to what you have, not what you don’t have.

For if the eagerness is there, the gift is acceptable according to what a person has, not according to what he does not have.

For if the willingness is present, it is acceptable according to what a person has, not according to what he does not have.

For if there is first a willing mind, it is accepted according to what one has, and not according to what he does not have.

And a poor widow came and put in two small copper coins, which make a penny.And he called his disciples to him and said to them,“ Truly, I say to you, this poor widow has put in more than all those who are contributing to the offering box.For they all contributed out of their abundance, but she out of her poverty has put in everything she had, all she had to live on.”

Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.

Jesus looked up and saw the rich putting their gifts into the offering box,and he saw a poor widow put in two small copper coins.And he said,“ Truly, I tell you, this poor widow has put in more than all of them.For they all contributed out of their abundance, but she out of her poverty put in all she had to live on.”

“ Speak to the people of Israel, that they take for me a contribution. From every man whose heart moves him you shall receive the contribution for me.

Take from among you a contribution to the Lord. Whoever is of a generous heart, let him bring the Lord’s contribution: gold, silver, and bronze;

“ One who is faithful in a very little is also faithful in much, and one who is dishonest in a very little is also dishonest in much.

All the men and women, the people of Israel, whose heart moved them to bring anything for the work that the Lord had commanded by Moses to be done brought it as a freewill offering to the Lord.

And they came, everyone whose heart stirred him, and everyone whose spirit moved him, and brought the Lord’s contribution to be used for the tent of meeting, and for all its service, and for the holy garments.So they came, both men and women. All who were of a willing heart brought brooches and earrings and signet rings and armlets, all sorts of gold objects, every man dedicating an offering of gold to the Lord.

And that servant who knew his master’s will but did not get ready or act according to his will, will receive a severe beating.But the one who did not know, and did what deserved a beating, will receive a light beating. Everyone to whom much was given, of him much will be required, and from him to whom they entrusted much, they will demand the more.

Then turning toward the woman he said to Simon,“ Do you see this woman? I entered your house; you gave me no water for my feet, but she has wet my feet with her tears and wiped them with her hair.You gave me no kiss, but from the time I came in she has not ceased to kiss my feet.You did not anoint my head with oil, but she has anointed my feet with ointment.

For you always have the poor with you, and whenever you want, you can do good for them. But you will not always have me.She has done what she could; she has anointed my body beforehand for burial.

What is desired in a man is steadfast love, and a poor man is better than a liar.

As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God’s varied grace:

But the Lord said to David my father,‘ Whereas it was in your heart to build a house for my name, you did well that it was in your heart.

Moreover, in addition to all that I have provided for the holy house, I have a treasure of my own of gold and silver, and because of my devotion to the house of my God I give it to the house of my God:3,000 talents of gold, of the gold of Ophir, and 7,000 talents of refined silver, for overlaying the walls of the house,and for all the work to be done by craftsmen, gold for the things of gold and silver for the things of silver. Who then will offer willingly, consecrating himself today to the Lord?”Then the leaders of fathers’ houses made their freewill offerings, as did also the leaders of the tribes, the commanders of thousands and of hundreds, and the officers over the king’s work.They gave for the service of the house of God 5,000 talents and 10,000 darics of gold, 10,000 talents of silver, 18,000 talents of bronze and 100,000 talents of iron.And whoever had precious stones gave them to the treasury of the house of the Lord, in the care of Jehiel the Gershonite.Then the people rejoiced because they had given willingly, for with a whole heart they had offered freely to the Lord. David the king also rejoiced greatly.Therefore David blessed the Lord in the presence of all the assembly. And David said:“ Blessed are you, O Lord, the God of Israel our father, forever and ever.Yours, O Lord, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the victory and the majesty, for all that is in the heavens and in the earth is yours. Yours is the kingdom, O Lord, and you are exalted as head above all.Both riches and honor come from you, and you rule over all. In your hand are power and might, and in your hand it is to make great and to give strength to all.And now we thank you, our God, and praise your glorious name.“ But who am I, and what is my people, that we should be able thus to offer willingly? For all things come from you, and of your own have we given you.For we are strangers before you and sojourners, as all our fathers were. Our days on the earth are like a shadow, and there is no abiding.O Lord our God, all this abundance that we have provided for building you a house for your holy name comes from your hand and is all your own.I know, my God, that you test the heart and have pleasure in uprightness. In the uprightness of my heart I have freely offered all these things, and now I have seen your people, who are present here, offering freely and joyously to you.O Lord, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, our fathers, keep forever such purposes and thoughts in the hearts of your people, and direct their hearts toward you.
