For if the eagerness is there, the gift is acceptable according to what a person has, not according to what he does not have.

For if the willingness is there, the gift is acceptable according to what one has, not according to what one does not have.

Do you really want to give? Then the gift is measured by what someone has. It is not measured by what they don’t have.

For if the readiness is there, it is acceptable according to what a person has, not according to what he does not have.

Whatever you give is acceptable if you give it eagerly. And give according to what you have, not what you don’t have.

For if the willingness is present, it is acceptable according to what a person has, not according to what he does not have.

For if there is first a willing mind, it is accepted according to what one has, and not according to what he does not have.

Then a poor widow came and dropped in two tiny coins worth very little.Summoning his disciples, he said to them,“ Truly I tell you, this poor widow has put more into the treasury than all the others.For they all gave out of their surplus, but she out of her poverty has put in everything she had— all she had to live on.”

Each person should do as he has decided in his heart— not reluctantly or out of compulsion, since God loves a cheerful giver.

He looked up and saw the rich dropping their offerings into the temple treasury.He also saw a poor widow dropping in two tiny coins.“ Truly I tell you,” he said,“ this poor widow has put in more than all of them.For all these people have put in gifts out of their surplus, but she out of her poverty has put in all she had to live on.”

“ Tell the Israelites to take an offering for me. You are to take my offering from everyone who is willing to give.

Take up an offering among you for the LORD. Let everyone whose heart is willing bring this as the LORD’s offering: gold, silver, and bronze;

Whoever is faithful in very little is also faithful in much, and whoever is unrighteous in very little is also unrighteous in much.

So the Israelites brought a freewill offering to the LORD, all the men and women whose hearts prompted them to bring something for all the work that the LORD, through Moses, had commanded to be done.

Everyone whose heart was moved and whose spirit prompted him came and brought an offering to the LORD for the work on the tent of meeting, for all its services, and for the holy garments.Both men and women came; all who had willing hearts brought brooches, earrings, rings, necklaces, and all kinds of gold jewelry— everyone who presented a presentation offering of gold to the LORD.

And that servant who knew his master’s will and didn’t prepare himself or do it will be severely beaten.But the one who did not know and did what deserved punishment will receive a light beating. From everyone who has been given much, much will be required; and from the one who has been entrusted with much, even more will be expected.

Turning to the woman, he said to Simon,“ Do you see this woman? I entered your house; you gave me no water for my feet, but she, with her tears, has washed my feet and wiped them with her hair.You gave me no kiss, but she hasn’t stopped kissing my feet since I came in.You didn’t anoint my head with olive oil, but she has anointed my feet with perfume.

You always have the poor with you, and you can do what is good for them whenever you want, but you do not always have me.She has done what she could; she has anointed my body in advance for burial.

What is desirable in a person is his fidelity; better to be a poor person than a liar.

Just as each one has received a gift, use it to serve others, as good stewards of the varied grace of God.

However, the LORD said to my father David,“ Since it was your desire to build a temple for my name, you have done well to have this desire.

Moreover, because of my delight in the house of my God, I now give my personal treasures of gold and silver for the house of my God over and above all that I’ve provided for the holy house:100 tons of gold( gold of Ophir) and 250 tons of refined silver for overlaying the walls of the buildings,the gold for the gold work and the silver for the silver, for all the work to be done by the craftsmen. Now who will volunteer to consecrate himself to the LORD today?”Then the leaders of the households, the leaders of the tribes of Israel, the commanders of thousands and of hundreds, and the officials in charge of the king’s work gave willingly.For the service of God’s house they gave 185 tons of gold and 10,000 gold coins, 375 tons of silver, 675 tons of bronze, and 4,000 tons of iron.Whoever had precious stones gave them to the treasury of the LORD’s house under the care of Jehiel the Gershonite.Then the people rejoiced because of their leaders’ willingness to give, for they had given to the LORD wholeheartedly. King David also rejoiced greatly.Then David blessed the LORD in the sight of all the assembly. David said, May you be blessed, LORD God of our father Israel, from eternity to eternity.Yours, LORD, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the splendor and the majesty, for everything in the heavens and on earth belongs to you. Yours, LORD, is the kingdom, and you are exalted as head over all.Riches and honor come from you, and you are the ruler of everything. Power and might are in your hand, and it is in your hand to make great and to give strength to all.Now therefore, our God, we give you thanks and praise your glorious name.But who am I, and who are my people, that we should be able to give as generously as this? For everything comes from you, and we have given you only what comes from your own hand.For we are aliens and temporary residents in your presence as were all our ancestors. Our days on earth are like a shadow, without hope.LORD our God, all this wealth that we’ve provided for building you a house for your holy name comes from your hand; everything belongs to you.I know, my God, that you test the heart and that you are pleased with what is right. I have willingly given all these things with an upright heart, and now I have seen your people who are present here giving joyfully and willingly to you.LORD God of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, our ancestors, keep this desire forever in the thoughts of the hearts of your people, and confirm their hearts toward you.
