Godly sorrow brings repentance that leads to salvation and leaves no regret, but worldly sorrow brings death.

Godly sadness causes us to turn away from our sins and be saved. And we are certainly not sorry about that! But worldly sadness brings death.

For godly grief produces a repentance that leads to salvation without regret, whereas worldly grief produces death.

For the kind of sorrow God wants us to experience leads us away from sin and results in salvation. There’s no regret for that kind of sorrow. But worldly sorrow, which lacks repentance, results in spiritual death.

Is it not your ways that are not right?“ Therefore I will judge you, house of Israel, each according to his conduct,” declares the Lord God.“ Repent and turn away from all your offenses, so that wrongdoing does not become a stumbling block to you.

All the days of the needy are bad, But a cheerful heart has a continual feast.
