I will confirm my covenant as a perpetual covenant between me and you. It will extend to your descendants after you throughout their generations. I will be your God and the God of your descendants after you.I will give the whole land of Canaan– the land where you are now residing– to you and your descendants after you as a permanent possession. I will be their God.”

that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith, so that, because you have been rooted and grounded in love,

The one who eats my flesh and drinks my blood resides in me, and I in him.

But Christ is faithful as a son over God’s house. We are of his house, if in fact we hold firmly to our confidence and the hope we take pride in.

you yourselves, as living stones, are built up as a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood and to offer spiritual sacrifices that are acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.

“ And in the very place where it was said to them,‘ You are not my people,’ there they will be called‘ sons of the living God.’”

No one has seen God at any time. If we love one another, God resides in us, and his love is perfected in us.

Protect that good thing entrusted to you, through the Holy Spirit who lives within us.

Now they must put away their spiritual prostitution and the pillars of their kings far from me, and then I will live among them forever.

He is a jealous God who will not forgive your rebellion or your sins.If you abandon the LORD and worship foreign gods, he will turn against you; he will bring disaster on you and destroy you, though he once treated you well.”The people said to Joshua,“ No! He smashed it to dust and then threw the dust in the public graveyard.He tore down the quarters of the male cultic prostitutes in the LORD’s temple, where women were weaving shrines for Asherah.

They were worshiping the LORD and at the same time serving their own gods in accordance with the practices of the nations from which they had been deported.To this very day they observe their earlier practices. They do not worship the LORD; they do not obey the rules, regulations, law, and commandments that the LORD gave the descendants of Jacob, whom he renamed Israel.
