What agreement is there between the temple of God and idols? For we are the temple of the living God. As God has said:“ I will live with them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they will be my people.”

How can the temple of the true God and the statues of other gods agree? We are the temple of the living God. God has said,“ I will live with them. I will walk among them. I will be their God. And they will be my people.”( Leviticus 26:12; Jeremiah 32:38; Ezekiel 37:27)

No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.

Lord, thou hast been our dwelling place in all generations.

Take heed unto yourselves, lest ye forget the covenant of the LORD your God, which he made with you, and make you a graven image,[ or] the likeness of any[ thing], which the LORD thy God hath forbidden thee.For the LORD thy God[ is] a consuming fire,[ even] a jealous God.

They feared the LORD, and served their own gods, after the manner of the nations whom they carried away from thence.Unto this day they do after the former manners: they fear not the LORD, neither do they after their statutes, or after their ordinances, or after the law and commandment which the LORD commanded the children of Jacob, whom he named Israel;
