But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.Once you were not a people, but now you are the people of God; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy. Do not plant two kinds of seed in your vineyard; if you do, not only the crops you plant but also the fruit of the vineyard will be defiled.Do not plow with an ox and a donkey yoked together.Do not wear clothes of wool and linen woven together. (niv)

But you, brothers and sisters, are not in darkness so that this day should surprise you like a thief.You are all children of the light and children of the day. Judah has been unfaithful. A detestable thing has been committed in Israel and in Jerusalem: Judah has desecrated the sanctuary the Lord loves by marrying women who worship a foreign god. (niv)

you gave through your servants the prophets when you said:‘ The land you are entering to possess is a land polluted by the corruption of its peoples. By their detestable practices they have filled it with their impurity from one end to the other.Therefore, do not give your daughters in marriage to their sons or take their daughters for your sons.
