As a fair exchange— I speak as to my children— open wide your hearts also.

I speak to you as if you were my children. It is only fair that you open your hearts wide to us also.

In return( I speak as to children) widen your hearts also.

I am asking you to respond as if you were my own children. Open your hearts to us!

Now for a recompense in like kind( I speak as unto my children), be ye also enlarged.

And he said,“ The Lord’s arrow of victory, and the arrow of victory over Aram; for you will defeat the Arameans at Aphek until you have put an end to them.”Then he said,“ Take the arrows,” and he took them. And he said to the king of Israel,“ Strike the ground,” and he struck it three times and stopped.Then the man of God became angry at him and said,“ You should have struck five or six times, then you would have struck Aram until you put an end to it. But now you shall strike Aram only three times.”

I beg of you, brothers and sisters, become as I am, for I also have become as you are. You have done me no wrong;

This is the confidence which we have before Him, that, if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.And if we know that He hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests which we have asked from Him.

Jesus said to them,“ A prophet is not dishonored except in his hometown and among his own relatives, and in his own household.”And He could not do any miracle there except that He laid His hands on a few sick people and healed them.And He was amazed at their unbelief. And He was going around the villages, teaching.

And have you completely forgotten this word of encouragement that addresses you as a father addresses his son? It says,“ My son, do not make light of the Lord’s discipline, and do not lose heart when he rebukes you,because the Lord disciplines the one he loves, and he chastens everyone he accepts as his son.” (niv)

My dear children, for whom I am again in the pains of childbirth until Christ is formed in you, (niv)

Dear children, do not let anyone lead you astray. The one who does what is right is righteous, just as he is righteous. (niv)
