As a fair exchange— I speak as to my children— open wide your hearts also.

I speak to you as if you were my children. It is only fair that you open your hearts wide to us also.

In return( I speak as to children) widen your hearts also.

I am asking you to respond as if you were my own children. Open your hearts to us!

I speak as to my children; as a proper response, open your heart to us.

Now in the same way in exchange— I am speaking as to children— open wide your hearts to us, you as well.

Now in return for the same( I speak as to children), you also be open.

Now for a recompense in like kind( I speak as unto my children), be ye also enlarged.

Now as a fair exchange– I speak as to my children– open wide your hearts to us also.

As you know, like a father with his own children,

You are to strike down the Arameans in Aphek until you have put an end to them.”Then Elisha said,“ Take the arrows!” So he took them. Then Elisha said to the king of Israel,“ Strike the ground!” So he struck the ground three times and stopped.The man of God was angry with him and said,“ You should have struck the ground five or six times. Then you would have struck down Aram until you had put an end to them, but now you will only strike down Aram three times.”

I beg you, brothers: Become like me, for I also became like you. You have not wronged me;

Now this is the confidence we have before Him: Whenever we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.And if we know that He hears whatever we ask, we know that we have what we have asked Him for.

Then Jesus said to them,“ A prophet is not without honor except in his hometown, among his relatives, and in his household.”So He was not able to do any miracles there, except that He laid His hands on a few sick people and healed them.And He was amazed at their unbelief. Now He was going around the villages in a circuit, teaching.

I am writing this not to shame you but to warn you as my dear children.Even if you had ten thousand guardians in Christ, you do not have many fathers, for in Christ Jesus I became your father through the gospel. (niv)

And have you completely forgotten this word of encouragement that addresses you as a father addresses his son? It says,“ My son, do not make light of the Lord’s discipline, and do not lose heart when he rebukes you,because the Lord disciplines the one he loves, and he chastens everyone he accepts as his son.” (niv)

My dear children, for whom I am again in the pains of childbirth until Christ is formed in you, (niv)

Dear children, do not let anyone lead you astray. The one who does what is right is righteous, just as he is righteous. (niv)
