We are sad, but we are always full of joy. We are poor, but we make many people rich. We have nothing, but we own everything.

Our hearts ache, but we always have joy. We are poor, but we give spiritual riches to others. We own nothing, and yet we have everything.

Even if I am to be poured out as a drink offering upon the sacrificial offering of your faith, I am glad and rejoice with you all.

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.

If then you have not been faithful in the unrighteous wealth, who will entrust to you the true riches?And if you have not been faithful in that which is another’s, who will give you that which is your own?

How much better to get wisdom than gold! To get understanding is to be chosen rather than silver.

But rejoice insofar as you share Christ’s sufferings, that you may also rejoice and be glad when his glory is revealed.

“ Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.

But we have this treasure in jars of clay, to show that the surpassing power belongs to God and not to us.

Then they left the presence of the council, rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer dishonor for the name.

for while bodily training is of some value, godliness is of value in every way, as it holds promise for the present life and also for the life to come.

Listen, my beloved brothers, has not God chosen those who are poor in the world to be rich in faith and heirs of the kingdom, which he has promised to those who love him?

For you had compassion on those in prison, and you joyfully accepted the plundering of your property, since you knew that you yourselves had a better possession and an abiding one.

In this you rejoice, though now for a little while, if necessary, you have been grieved by various trials,so that the tested genuineness of your faith— more precious than gold that perishes though it is tested by fire— may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ.Though you have not seen him, you love him. Though you do not now see him, you believe in him and rejoice with joy that is inexpressible and filled with glory,

Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God.

Now if their trespass means riches for the world, and if their failure means riches for the Gentiles, how much more will their full inclusion mean!

for this reason, brothers, in all our distress and affliction we have been comforted about you through your faith.For now we live, if you are standing fast in the Lord.For what thanksgiving can we return to God for you, for all the joy that we feel for your sake before our God,as we pray most earnestly night and day that we may see you face to face and supply what is lacking in your faith?

Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds,for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness.And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.

They are to do good, to be rich in good works, to be generous and ready to share,

But Peter said,“ I have no silver and gold, but what I do have I give to you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk!”

For I wrote to you out of much affliction and anguish of heart and with many tears, not to cause you pain but to let you know the abundant love that I have for you.

So let no one boast in men. For all things are yours,whether Paul or Apollos or Cephas or the world or life or death or the present or the future— all are yours,and you are Christ’s, and Christ is God’s.

For the Lord God is a sun and shield; the Lord bestows favor and honor. No good thing does he withhold from those who walk uprightly.

Rejoice always,

that I have great sorrow and unceasing anguish in my heart.

that according to the riches of his glory he may grant you to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in your inner being,

Now I rejoice in my sufferings for your sake, and in my flesh I am filling up what is lacking in Christ’s afflictions for the sake of his body, that is, the church,

For it is all for your sake, so that as grace extends to more and more people it may increase thanksgiving, to the glory of God.

About midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the prisoners were listening to them,

that in every way you were enriched in him in all speech and all knowledge—

To me, though I am the very least of all the saints, this grace was given, to preach to the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ,

He who did not spare his own Son but gave him up for us all, how will he not also with him graciously give us all things?

I do not say this to condemn you, for I said before that you are in our hearts, to die together and to live together.I am acting with great boldness toward you; I have great pride in you; I am filled with comfort. In all our affliction, I am overflowing with joy.For even when we came into Macedonia, our bodies had no rest, but we were afflicted at every turn— fighting without and fear within.But God, who comforts the downcast, comforted us by the coming of Titus,and not only by his coming but also by the comfort with which he was comforted by you, as he told us of your longing, your mourning, your zeal for me, so that I rejoiced still more.For even if I made you grieve with my letter, I do not regret it— though I did regret it, for I see that that letter grieved you, though only for a while.As it is, I rejoice, not because you were grieved, but because you were grieved into repenting. For you felt a godly grief, so that you suffered no loss through us.For godly grief produces a repentance that leads to salvation without regret, whereas worldly grief produces death.

Rejoice and be glad, for your reward is great in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.

The one who conquers will have this heritage, and I will be his God and he will be my son.
