Now the one who prepared us for this very purpose is God, who gave us the Spirit as a down payment.

Now the one who has fashioned us for this very purpose is God, who has given us the Spirit as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come.

God has formed us for that very purpose. He has given us the Holy Spirit as a down payment. The Spirit makes us sure of what is still to come.

He who has prepared us for this very thing is God, who has given us the Spirit as a guarantee.

God himself has prepared us for this, and as a guarantee he has given us his Holy Spirit.

When they came to Eshcol Valley, they cut down a branch with a single cluster of grapes, which was carried on a pole by two men. For when he sees his children, the work of my hands within his nation, they will honor my name, they will honor the Holy One of Jacob and stand in awe of the God of Israel.

to provide for those who mourn in Zion; to give them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, festive oil instead of mourning, and splendid clothes instead of despair. And they will be called righteous trees, planted by the LORD to glorify him.

For our momentary light affliction is producing for us an absolutely incomparable eternal weight of glory.

All your people will be righteous; they will possess the land forever; they are the branch I planted, the work of my hands, so that I may be glorified.

For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared ahead of time for us to do.
