If we are“ out of our mind,” as some say, it is for God; if we are in our right mind, it is for you.

Are we“ out of our minds,” as some people say? If so, it is because we want to serve God. Does what we say make sense? If so, it is because we want to serve you.

For if we are beside ourselves, it is for God; if we are in our right mind, it is for you.

If it seems we are crazy, it is to bring glory to God. And if we are in our right minds, it is for your benefit.

For if we are out of our mind, it is for God; if we are in our right mind, it is for you.

For if we have lost our minds, it is for God; if we are of sound mind, it is for you.

For if we are beside ourselves, it is for God; or if we are of sound mind, it is for you.

For whether we are beside ourselves, it is unto God; or whether we are of sober mind, it is unto you.

I wish that you would be patient with me in a little foolishness, but indeed you are being patient with me!

I say again, let no one think that I am a fool. But if you do, then at least accept me as a fool, so that I too may boast a little.What I am saying with this boastful confidence I do not say the way the Lord would. Instead it is, as it were, foolishness.

As Paul was saying these things in his defense, Festus exclaimed loudly,“ You have lost your mind, Paul! Your great learning is driving you insane!”But Paul replied,“ I have not lost my mind, most excellent Festus, but am speaking true and rational words.

I have become a fool. You yourselves forced me to do it, for I should have been commended by you. For I lack nothing in comparison to those“ super- apostles,” even though I am nothing.

For even if I wish to boast, I will not be a fool, for I would be telling the truth, but I refrain from this so that no one may regard me beyond what he sees in me or what he hears from me,

We are fools for Christ, but you are wise in Christ! We are weak, but you are strong! You are distinguished, we are dishonored!To the present hour we are hungry and thirsty, poorly clothed, brutally treated, and without a roof over our heads.We do hard work, toiling with our own hands. When we are verbally abused, we respond with a blessing, when persecuted, we endure,when people lie about us, we answer in a friendly manner. We are the world’s dirt and scum, even now.

David replied to Michal,“ It was before the LORD! I was celebrating before the LORD, who chose me over your father and his entire family and appointed me as leader over the LORD’s people Israel.I am willing to shame and humiliate myself even more than this! But with the slave girls whom you mentioned let me be distinguished!”

For by the grace given to me I say to every one of you not to think more highly of yourself than you ought to think, but to think with sober discernment, as God has distributed to each of you a measure of faith.
