Knowing therefore the fear of the Lord, we persuade men, but we are revealed to God, and I hope that we are revealed also in your consciences.

Since, then, we know what it is to fear the Lord, we try to persuade others. What we are is plain to God, and I hope it is also plain to your conscience.

We know what it means to have respect for the Lord. So we try to help other people to understand it. What we are is plain to God. I hope it is also plain to your way of thinking.

Therefore, knowing the fear of the Lord, we persuade others. But what we are is known to God, and I hope it is known also to your conscience.

Because we understand our fearful responsibility to the Lord, we work hard to persuade others. God knows we are sincere, and I hope you know this, too.

Therefore, since we know the fear of the Lord, we try to persuade people. What we are is plain to God, and I hope it is also plain to your consciences.

Therefore, knowing the fear of the Lord, we persuade people, but we are well known to God; and I hope that we are also well known in your consciences.

and some save, snatching them out of the fire with fear, hating even the clothing stained by the flesh.

It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.

The Lord’s servant must not quarrel, but be gentle toward all, able to teach, patient,in gentleness correcting those who oppose him: perhaps God may give them repentance leading to a full knowledge of the truth,and they may recover themselves out of the devil’s snare, having been taken captive by him to his will.

saying,“ This man persuades men to worship God contrary to the law.”

If anyone was not found written in the book of life, he was cast into the lake of fire.

For calamity from God is a terror to me. Because of his majesty, I can do nothing.

For our boasting is this: the testimony of our conscience, that in holiness and sincerity of God, not in fleshly wisdom but in the grace of God we behaved ourselves in the world, and more abundantly toward you.For we write no other things to you than what you read or even acknowledge, and I hope you will acknowledge to the end,as also you acknowledged us in part, that we are your boasting, even as you also are ours, in the day of our Lord Jesus.

“ He said to him,‘ If they don’t listen to Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded if one rises from the dead.’”

For our exhortation is not of error, nor of uncleanness, nor in deception.But even as we have been approved by God to be entrusted with the Good News, so we speak: not as pleasing men, but God, who tests our hearts.For neither were we at any time found using words of flattery, as you know, nor a cloak of covetousness( God is witness),nor seeking glory from men( neither from you nor from others), when we might have claimed authority as apostles of Christ.But we were gentle among you, like a nursing mother cherishes her own children.Even so, affectionately longing for you, we were well pleased to impart to you, not the Good News of God only, but also our own souls, because you had become very dear to us.For you remember, brothers, our labor and travail; for working night and day, that we might not burden any of you, we preached to you the Good News of God.You are witnesses with God how holy, righteously, and blamelessly we behaved ourselves toward you who believe.As you know, we exhorted, comforted, and implored every one of you, as a father does his own children,to the end that you should walk worthily of God, who calls you into his own Kingdom and glory.

For the king knows of these things, to whom also I speak freely. For I am persuaded that none of these things is hidden from him, for this has not been done in a corner.

For I know nothing against myself. Yet I am not justified by this, but he who judges me is the Lord.Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord comes, who will both bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and reveal the counsels of the hearts. Then each man will get his praise from God.

He reasoned in the synagogue every Sabbath and persuaded Jews and Greeks.

Working together, we entreat also that you do not receive the grace of God in vain,

For the arrows of the Almighty are within me. My spirit drinks up their poison. The terrors of God set themselves in array against me.

These will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.”

Who can stand before his indignation? Who can endure the fierceness of his anger? His wrath is poured out like fire, and the rocks are broken apart by him.

But I will warn you whom you should fear. Fear him who after he has killed, has power to cast into Gehenna. Yes, I tell you, fear him.

We are therefore ambassadors on behalf of Christ, as though God were entreating by us: we beg you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God.

We proclaim him, admonishing every man and teaching every man in all wisdom, that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus;for which I also labor, striving according to his working, which works in me mightily.

Now when the synagogue broke up, many of the Jews and of the devout proselytes followed Paul and Barnabas; who, speaking to them, urged them to continue in the grace of God.

Therefore seeing we have this ministry, even as we obtained mercy, we don’t faint.But we have renounced the hidden things of shame, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully, but by the manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man’s conscience in the sight of God.

If your hand causes you to stumble, cut it off. It is better for you to enter into life maimed, rather than having your two hands to go into Gehenna, into the unquenchable fire,

You see and hear that not at Ephesus alone, but almost throughout all Asia, this Paul has persuaded and turned away many people, saying that they are no gods that are made with hands.

I am afflicted and ready to die from my youth up. While I suffer your terrors, I am distracted.Your fierce wrath has gone over me. Your terrors have cut me off.

Who knows the power of your anger, your wrath according to the fear that is due to you?

Terrors will make him afraid on every side, and will chase him at his heels.

How they are suddenly destroyed! They are completely swept away with terrors.

For am I now seeking the favor of men, or of God? Or am I striving to please men? For if I were still pleasing men, I wouldn’t be a servant of Christ.

They traveled, and a terror of God was on the cities that were around them, and they didn’t pursue the sons of Jacob.

Don’t be afraid of those who kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul. Rather, fear him who is able to destroy both soul and body in Gehenna.

The sinners in Zion are afraid. Trembling has seized the godless ones. Who among us can live with the devouring fire? Who among us can live with everlasting burning?

For we are not as so many, peddling the word of God. But as of sincerity, but as of God, in the sight of God, we speak in Christ.

For whoever wants to save his life will lose it; and whoever will lose his life for my sake and the sake of the Good News will save it.For what does it profit a man, to gain the whole world, and forfeit his life?For what will a man give in exchange for his life?For whoever will be ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation, the Son of Man also will be ashamed of him, when he comes in his Father’s glory, with the holy angels.”

When they had appointed him a day, many people came to him at his lodging. He explained to them, testifying about God’s Kingdom, and persuading them concerning Jesus, both from the law of Moses and from the prophets, from morning until evening.

You, even you, are to be feared. Who can stand in your sight when you are angry?
