persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed.

Others make us suffer. But God does not desert us. We are knocked down. But we are not knocked out.

Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the LORD upholdeth[ him with] his hand.I have been young, and[ now] am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread.

When thou passest through the waters, I[ will be] with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.

Rejoice not against me, O mine enemy: when I fall, I shall arise; when I sit in darkness, the LORD[ shall be] a light unto me.

For a just[ man] falleth seven times, and riseth up again: but the wicked shall fall into mischief.

[ Let your] conversation[ be] without covetousness;[ and be] content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.

Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted within me? hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him,[ who is] the health of my countenance, and my God.

Behold, happy[ is] the man whom God correcteth: therefore despise not thou the chastening of the Almighty:For he maketh sore, and bindeth up: he woundeth, and his hands make whole.He shall deliver thee in six troubles: yea, in seven there shall no evil touch thee.

For the LORD loveth judgment, and forsaketh not his saints; they are preserved for ever: but the seed of the wicked shall be cut off.

Nevertheless God, that comforteth those that are cast down, comforted us by the coming of Titus;

Thou shalt no more be termed Forsaken; neither shall thy land any more be termed Desolate: but thou shalt be called Hephzibah, and thy land Beulah: for the LORD delighteth in thee, and thy land shall be married.

And they that know thy name will put their trust in thee: for thou, LORD, hast not forsaken them that seek thee.

My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?[ why art thou so] far from helping me,[ and from] the words of my roaring?

Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and[ why] art thou disquieted in me? hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him[ for] the help of his countenance.

Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my saying, they will keep yours also.

When[ men] are cast down, then thou shalt say,[ There is] lifting up; and he shall save the humble person.
