For what we preach is not ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord, and ourselves as your servants for Jesus’ sake.

The message we preach is not about ourselves. Our message is about Jesus Christ. We say that he is Lord. And we say that we serve you because of Jesus.

You see, we don’t go around preaching about ourselves. We preach that Jesus Christ is Lord, and we ourselves are your servants for Jesus’ sake.

For we are not proclaiming ourselves but Jesus Christ as Lord, and ourselves as your servants for Jesus’s sake.

They must be silenced, since they are upsetting whole families by teaching for shameful gain what they ought not to teach.

When Peter entered, Cornelius met him and fell down at his feet and worshiped him.But Peter lifted him up, saying,“ Stand up; I too am a man.”

For if we live, we live to the Lord, and if we die, we die to the Lord. So then, whether we live or whether we die, we are the Lord’s.For to this end Christ died and lived again, that he might be Lord both of the dead and of the living.

For you were called to freedom, brothers. Only do not use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another.

God exalted him at his right hand as Leader and Savior, to give repentance to Israel and forgiveness of sins.

Some indeed preach Christ from envy and rivalry, but others from good will.

For though I am free from all, I have made myself a servant to all, that I might win more of them.To the Jews I became as a Jew, in order to win Jews. To those under the law I became as one under the law( though not being myself under the law) that I might win those under the law.To those outside the law I became as one outside the law( not being outside the law of God but under the law of Christ) that I might win those outside the law.To the weak I became weak, that I might win the weak. I have become all things to all people, that by all means I might save some.I do it all for the sake of the gospel, that I may share with them in its blessings.

And he said to them,“ The kings of the Gentiles exercise lordship over them, and those in authority over them are called benefactors.But not so with you. Rather, let the greatest among you become as the youngest, and the leader as one who serves.

shepherd the flock of God that is among you, exercising oversight, not under compulsion, but willingly, as God would have you; not for shameful gain, but eagerly;not domineering over those in your charge, but being examples to the flock.And when the chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the unfading crown of glory.Likewise, you who are younger, be subject to the elders. He who comes from heaven is above all.

As for the word that he sent to Israel, preaching good news of peace through Jesus Christ( he is Lord of all),

The one who speaks on his own authority seeks his own glory; but the one who seeks the glory of him who sent him is true, and in him there is no falsehood.

The first man was from the earth, a man of dust; the second man is from heaven.

But there was a man named Simon, who had previously practiced magic in the city and amazed the people of Samaria, saying that he himself was somebody great.They all paid attention to him, from the least to the greatest, saying,“ This man is the power of God that is called Great.”

And when the crowds saw what Paul had done, they lifted up their voices, saying in Lycaonian,“ The gods have come down to us in the likeness of men!”Barnabas they called Zeus, and Paul, Hermes, because he was the chief speaker.And the priest of Zeus, whose temple was at the entrance to the city, brought oxen and garlands to the gates and wanted to offer sacrifice with the crowds.But when the apostles Barnabas and Paul heard of it, they tore their garments and rushed out into the crowd, crying out,“ Men, why are you doing these things? We also are men, of like nature with you, and we bring you good news, that you should turn from these vain things to a living God, who made the heaven and the earth and the sea and all that is in them.

Therefore I want you to understand that no one speaking in the Spirit of God ever says“ Jesus is accursed!” and no one can say“ Jesus is Lord” except in the Holy Spirit.

But Jesus called them to him and said,“ You know that the rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and their great ones exercise authority over them.It shall not be so among you. But whoever would be great among you must be your servant,and whoever would be first among you must be your slave,

yet for us there is one God, the Father, from whom are all things and for whom we exist, and one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom are all things and through whom we exist.

“ I baptize you with water for repentance, but he who is coming after me is mightier than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.

just as I try to please everyone in everything I do, not seeking my own advantage, but that of many, that they may be saved.
