Hebrews 12:18-21
You have not come to a physical mountain, to a place of flaming fire, darkness, gloom, and whirlwind, as the Israelites did at Mount Sinai.For they heard an awesome trumpet blast and a voice so terrible that they begged God to stop speaking.They staggered back under God’s command:“ If even an animal touches the mountain, it must be stoned to death.”Moses himself was so frightened at the sight that he said,“ I am terrified and trembling.”

Exodus 19:12-19

There was a long, loud blast from a ram’s horn, and all the people trembled.Moses led them out from the camp to meet with God, and they stood at the foot of the mountain.All of Mount Sinai was covered with smoke because the Lord had descended on it in the form of fire. The smoke billowed into the sky like smoke from a brick kiln, and the whole mountain shook violently.As the blast of the ram’s horn grew louder and louder, Moses spoke, and God thundered his reply.

Hebrews 3:5-6
Moses was certainly faithful in God’s house as a servant. His work was an illustration of the truths God would reveal later.But Christ, as the Son, is in charge of God’s entire house. And we are God’s house, if we keep our courage and remain confident in our hope in Christ.

But because one other person obeyed God, many will be made righteous.God’s law was given so that all people could see how sinful they were. But as people sinned more and more, God’s wonderful grace became more abundant.So just as sin ruled over all people and brought them to death, now God’s wonderful grace rules instead, giving us right standing with God and resulting in eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Romans 10:3-10
For they don’t understand God’s way of making people right with himself. Refusing to accept God’s way, they cling to their own way of getting right with God by trying to keep the law.For Christ has already accomplished the purpose for which the law was given. As a result, all who believe in him are made right with God.For Moses writes that the law’s way of making a person right with God requires obedience to all of its commands.But faith’s way of getting right with God says,“ Don’t say in your heart,‘ Who will go up to heaven?’( to bring Christ down to earth).And don’t say,‘ Who will go down to the place of the dead?’( to bring Christ back to life again).”In fact, it says,“ The message is very close at hand; it is on your lips and in your heart.” And that message is the very message about faith that we preach:If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by openly declaring your faith that you are saved.

For his face shone with the glory of God, even though the brightness was already fading away.

Romans 8:3-4
The law of Moses was unable to save us because of the weakness of our sinful nature. So God did what the law could not do. He sent his own Son in a body like the bodies we sinners have. And in that body God declared an end to sin’s control over us by giving his Son as a sacrifice for our sins.He did this so that the just requirement of the law would be fully satisfied for us, who no longer follow our sinful nature but instead follow the Spirit.
