因为很明显，你们是基督的书信，由我们所经手；不是用墨写的，而是用永生神的灵写的；不是刻在石版上，而是刻在人的心版上。

爾等明明為基督之書札、而吾儕供書記之役焉。此書也、非以楮墨寫成、乃以永生天主之聖神；非鐫於碑石、而鐫於人心者也。

西门彼得回答说：“你是基督，是永生神的儿子！”

其实他们自己在宣扬有关我们的事，说我们是怎样进到你们那里，你们是怎样离弃偶像归向神、服事又活又真的神，

神的圣所与偶像有什么相同呢？要知道，我们是永生神的圣所，正如神所说：“我将要在他们中间居住，在他们中间往来；我将要做他们的神，他们将要做我的子民。”

我的灵魂切慕渴想耶和华的院宇；我的心和我的肉体向永生的神欢呼。

我的灵魂渴想神，渴想永生的神。我什么时候能去见神的面呢？

更何况基督的血呢！基督藉着永恒的圣灵，将自己毫无瑕疵地献给神，他的血难道不能洁净我们的良心脱离致死的行为，使我们事奉永生的神吗？

你当把它们系在你的指头上，把它们刻在你的心版上。

因为，就算真有所谓的神明——无论在天上或在地上，好像有许多的“神”和许多的“主”——但对我们来说，只有一位神，就是父，万有都出于他，我们也归于他；并且只有一位主，就是耶稣基督，万有都藉着他而有，我们也藉着他而有。然而，不是所有的人都有这知识。有些人因习惯了偶像，至今还以为所吃的是祭过偶像的食物。他们的良心因为软弱，就被玷污了。其实食物不能使我们接近神；我们如果不吃也不会缺少什么，吃了也不会增加什么。不过要当心，免得你们的这权利成了软弱之人的绊跌物。因为，如果有人看见你这有知识的人在偶像的庙里坐席，难道不就鼓励了他软弱的良心，使他也去吃那祭过偶像的食物吗？

“你要给那在锡亚蒂拉教会的使者写信说：“神的儿子，就是那位眼睛如火焰、两脚仿佛精铜的，这样说：

“你要给那在劳迪西亚教会的使者写信说：“那位阿们，就是那信实的、真实的见证者，神创造之物的本源，这样说：

“你要给那在以弗所教会的使者写信说：“那位右手握着七颗星、在七座金灯台中间行走的，这样说：

“你要给那在佩尔伽马教会的使者写信说：“那位有双刃利剑的，这样说：

“你要给那在费拉德菲亚教会的使者写信说：“那位神圣的、真实的，拿着大卫的钥匙、开了就没有人能关、关了就没有人能开的，这样说：

“凡是有耳的，就应当听圣灵向各教会所说的话！”

大卫问站在旁边的人说：“如果有人击杀这非利士人，除掉以色列的羞辱，他会被怎样对待呢？这未受割礼的非利士人是谁，竟敢辱骂永生神的军队！”

“你要给士每拿教会的使者写信说：“那位首先的、末后的，那位曾经死去又活过来的，这样说：

“你要给那在萨迪斯教会的使者写信说：“那位有神的七个灵和七颗星的，这样说：我知道你的行为，你名义上是活的，其实你是死的。

现在我发出命令，在我国的一切权柄之下，人人都要在但以理的神面前恐惧战兢——因为他是永生的神，他永远长存，他的国度不会毁灭，他的权柄没有穷尽！
