Am I not as free as anyone else? Am I not an apostle? Haven’t I seen Jesus our Lord with my own eyes? Isn’t it because of my work that you belong to the Lord?Even if others think I am not an apostle, I certainly am to you. You yourselves are proof that I am the Lord’s apostle.

Let me say first that I thank my God through Jesus Christ for all of you, because your faith in him is being talked about all over the world.

And now the word of the Lord is ringing out from you to people everywhere, even beyond Macedonia and Achaia, for wherever we go we find people telling us about your faith in God. We don’t need to tell them about it,

So it is right that I should feel as I do about all of you, for you have a special place in my heart. You share with me the special favor of God, both in my imprisonment and in defending and confirming the truth of the Good News.

I’m not saying this to condemn you. I said before that you are in our hearts, and we live or die together with you.

I will gladly spend myself and all I have for you, even though it seems that the more I love you, the less you love me.

Why? Because I don’t love you? God knows that I do.

Because of God’s grace to me, I have laid the foundation like an expert builder. Now others are building on it. But whoever is building on this foundation must be very careful.
