And not as Moses,[ which] put a vail over his face, that the children of Israel could not stedfastly look to the end of that which is abolished:

We are not like Moses, who would put a veil over his face to prevent the Israelites from seeing the end of what was passing away.

We are not like Moses. He used to cover his face with a veil. That was to keep the people of Israel from seeing the end of what was passing away.

not like Moses, who would put a veil over his face so that the Israelites might not gaze at the outcome of what was being brought to an end.

We are not like Moses, who put a veil over his face so the people of Israel would not see the glory, even though it was destined to fade away.

We are not like Moses, who used to put a veil over his face so that the Israelites could not stare at the end of what was fading away,

and not like Moses who used to put a veil over his face to keep the Israelites from staring at the result of the glory that was made ineffective.

and not as Moses, who put a veil on his face, that the children of Israel wouldn’t look steadfastly on the end of that which was passing away.

And[ till] Moses had done speaking with them, he put a vail on his face.But when Moses went in before the LORD to speak with him, he took the vail off, until he came out. And he came out, and spake unto the children of Israel[ that] which he was commanded.And the children of Israel saw the face of Moses, that the skin of Moses’ face shone: and Moses put the vail upon his face again, until he went in to speak with him.

But if the ministration of death, written[ and] engraven in stones, was glorious, so that the children of Israel could not stedfastly behold the face of Moses for the glory of his countenance; which[ glory] was to be done away:

For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition[ between us];Having abolished in his flesh the enmity,[ even] the law of commandments[ contained] in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man,[ so] making peace;

Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body[ is] of Christ.

But before faith came, we were kept under the law, shut up unto the faith which should afterwards be revealed.Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster[ to bring us] unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith.

For Christ[ is] the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth.

For the law having a shadow of good things to come,[ and] not the very image of the things, can never with those sacrifices which they offered year by year continually make the comers thereunto perfect.For then would they not have ceased to be offered? because that the worshippers once purged should have had no more conscience of sins.But in those[ sacrifices there is] a remembrance again[ made] of sins every year.For[ it is] not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins.Wherefore when he cometh into the world, he saith, Sacrifice and offering thou wouldest not, but a body hast thou prepared me:In burnt offerings and[ sacrifices] for sin thou hast had no pleasure.Then said I, Lo, I come( in the volume of the book it is written of me,) to do thy will, O God.Above when he said, Sacrifice and offering and burnt offerings and[ offering] for sin thou wouldest not, neither hadst pleasure[ therein]; which are offered by the law;Then said he, Lo, I come to do thy will, O God. He taketh away the first, that he may establish the second.
