We are not like Moses, who would put a veil over his face to prevent the Israelites from seeing the end of what was passing away.

We are not like Moses. He used to cover his face with a veil. That was to keep the people of Israel from seeing the end of what was passing away.

and not like Moses who used to put a veil over his face to keep the Israelites from staring at the result of the glory that was made ineffective.

说完之后，他就用帕子遮住自己的脸。每当进到会幕跟耶和华说话时，他就揭开帕子，出来后便把耶和华的吩咐告诉以色列百姓。百姓会看到他脸上发光，于是他再用帕子遮住脸，直到下次与耶和华说话的时候才揭开。

这最终带来死亡、刻在石版上的律法条文的事工尚且有荣耀，甚至使摩西的脸上发出荣光，尽管很快就消逝了，以色列人仍然无法定睛看他，

因为基督耶稣亲自给我们带来了和平，以自己的身体拆毁了以色列人和外族人之间充满敌意的隔墙，使双方合而为一，并废除了以诫命和规条为内容的律法制度。祂这样做是为了在自己里面把双方造成一个新人，成就和平，

这些都不过是将来之事的影子，那真实的本体是基督。

信耶稣的时代还没有来临以前，律法暂时监管我们。等到信耶稣之道显明出来后，律法就不再监管我们。因此，律法是我们的监护人，负责引领我们归向基督，使我们可以因信而被称为义人。

其实基督是律法的终极目的，使所有信靠祂的人都可以得到义。

律法只是将来美事的一个投影，并非本体的真像，所以年复一年的献祭不能使前来敬拜的人纯全。否则，献祭的事早已终止了，因为敬拜的人若献一次祭就能彻底得到洁净，他们就不再觉得有罪了。然而，每年献祭的事都使人想起自己的罪来，因为公牛和山羊的血根本不能除去人的罪。所以，基督来到世上的时候曾说：“上帝啊，祭物和供物非你所悦，你为我预备了身体。你并非喜爱燔祭和赎罪祭。于是我说，‘上帝啊，我来是要遵行你的旨意，我的事都记在圣经上了。’”基督首先说：“祭物、供物、燔祭和赎罪祭都不是你想要的，也不是你喜悦的。”这些都是依照律法献上的。然后祂又说：“我来是要遵行你的旨意。”这样，祂废除了前者，为要设立后者。
